Those of us blessed with children will know the lengths you are willing to go for some peace and quiet. Lucky for me this excellent purveyor of delicious ice cream, is not so far from my home to warrant too much effort. However if it is a little bit of a trek for you, I would still say that you it’s worth it. Started by the original Fusco in the early part of the 20th century, Fusco ice cream has several flavours with the option of sitting in at one of their 3 small tables or wrapping up and taking your choice of frozen goodness away with you. Honourable mentions for the honeycomb and chocolate flavours which can be enjoyed in several different receptacles of both the edible and non-edible variety(i.e. Plastic tub vs. waffle or two scoop cone). Visiting here is guaranteed to cause a debate while choosing, but once selection has been made, you can look forward to 15 — 20 mins of quiet while your loved ones devour their desert. Which on a rainy Sunday afternoon is well worth the reasonable prices.

Fusco’s ice cream has to some of the best, if not the best ice cream in the whole of Belfast, or even the world! I’m not sure how they get it so deliciously tasty; in fact I don’t even care how they do it, all I know about it is that for £1.30 you can get some of the best ice cream known to man! They have all the flavours you could think of, from my personal Fusco’s favourite of honeycomb(with great big chunks of real honeycomb mixed in with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce) to mint chocolate to the best strawberry ice cream I’ve ever tasted, Fusco’s have the profession of ice cream making down to a fine art and everyone in the area is delighted about it! I would normally go to Fusco’s for a family sized tub of joy to share with everyone for dessert after a nice homemade meal and have always been impressed by the attentive and friendly service that I receive, particularly when the place is packed and the staff must be run off their feet. With great quality produce at good prices Fusco’s is certainly my number one ice cream shop and I’m definitely not alone with this sentiment.
