Nice, classy place for lunch. It’s in an old bank building with opulent décor & quite reasonable lunch prices(I paid £16.45 for a pasta dish & a glass of wine). Their free wifi is another nice touch.

Something a little different, especially for Belfast. It is a little pricey but what would you expect, it just has that ‘look’ about it. The night I first visited, at a certain point of the night some music started up and a group of dancers, fronted by a drag queen /tranny, started performing their butts off. It lasted what seemed to be an hour or more and was great fun — really well done and good fun. The crowd seemed to get well into it. If you’re into rough’n’ready places then this isn’t the bar for you — but if you like a bit of a laugh, a bit of a dance, and some gorgeous surroundings, check it out.

This is a superb place. It is an old building of Belfast, one of the opulent city interiors. Café Vaudeville has the remarkable distinction of being some kind of single prism of many glimmering colours. By this I mean that it ticks every possible positive box you could think of, and it’s likely you hadn’t supposed that that was possible as the boxes are often opposite terms. Like both being very, very smart looking and impressive, yet also very casual, very relaxing and not at all a imposing place to be in. Yet it’s not all too much(typical of the lovely coloured, unique Café Vaudveille prism), it’s very easy to accept this place. Deli counter and cakes, small and wide open bar areas, good bar menu. And a lovely restaurant section, formal, informal — you decide, it’s somewhere in between such that it’s either as you like it, depending on you and your company. I went with my parents here quite recently, taking them for a birthday meal, and I don’t think they sounded impressed when I told them we were going to a bar restaurant. But they absolutely loved the place and more or less instantly. The prices are good value for a place like this is. The food from the restaurant menu was very wholesome, very well prepared, very delicious food. I can’t wait to return. The two waitresses who attended us were lovely, attentive and helpful, very nice and polite, and their presentation was great. The ambience was great, everything was fine. My parents and I relaxed quickly and they were giving my compliments about the choice of place to visit very soon after arriving, and they continued to during our visit. We had a really pleasant night. Café Vaudeville has a members club in an upstairs fringe gallery looking down on the rest of the place, and with great views of the lovely ceiling. I haven’t really seen this used at all, so that’s a bit annoying considering it’s there and would be popular with people popping in. If it were popular with Café Vaudeville members, fine, but it doesn’t seem to be visited much at all. The only downside for me was discovering that the decorative plant weren’t living plants. But they’re very decorative — the ambience is evoked very well, putting aside my preference for living plants over plastic ones. The last time I had visited my eyesight wasn’t too good after some drinks and I asked if the plants were real. The bar server told me yes, of course, see for yourself, go and have a feel. I took his word for it, but I misinterpreted his word. So it took me until my next visit to realise that this was quick, funny Irish humour based on the way of my phrasing my question. If I had have gone and touched the(plastic) plants, it would have been confirmed to me that yes, these artificial plants are as real as any earthly solid is real, even though that’s not what my question meant. Very funny. Very nice place.

You’ll either love or hate this place. Any time I have visited it seems to be full of over-dressed social climbers and, overall, feels like a venue whose customers take themselves far too seriously. If you aren’t interested in what strangers think of you or in projecting an affluent(or pseudo-affluent) image then isn’t a relaxing atmosphere to be in. Saying that, a live(and very good) swing singer who was performing one time I visited was worth seeing.

Positioned in the heart of Belfast, within walking distance to all the shops. Café Vaudeville is a magnificent converted Bank. A wine bar, coffee bar and a fantastic restaurant all in one! On entering you will be taken aback with the amazing décor, the furniture and the wall coverings are all amazing too. Everything is home made! From the breads and the pesto, to lovely sausages and home made gravy. The risotto is my favourite; moist with crunchy large prawns. The lamb is fall off the bone, and the Finnebrogue venison is to die for — yes I have tried everything! I have eaten there on numerous occasions, and I have never been disappointed. The chef is always on hand, and he is prepared to alter dishes to suit. I can’t recommend Café Vaudeville highly enough. It’s something a little bit different.

This is my favour place to eat in Belfast. Its like being in the moulin rouge — without the dancing tarts! The large chandliers and luxurious chairs — all of which are different, make for a really interesting place to spend time. The food is fantastic and they have a great menu for both luch and dinner. On the weekends there is live music and its a great place to party. I would definately recommend it for somewhere querky and different to eat or party. They also have a little coffee shop part which is nice for tea and dessert during the week.

This is a lovely place thats a bit different. The décor inside is really ornate and opulent, and its worth a visit for a nosy at the interior. The menu is pretty limited nut the burger is huge and delicious and the mussels are lovely. Problem is with such a limited menu its not the type of place you want to go too often. The staff really let this place down though. They look disinterested and its takes forever to get someone to come to your table if you need something. Its definitely worth a visit for the food but don’t expect good service.

Worth a visit just to see the interior. The champagne bar is fun but obviously expensive and the food can be great. The mussels are lovely. Nice and relaxing during the day– you can sit on the sofas with a coffee and read without feeling like you are being hurried along. A good place to take visitors for a bite to eat.

Worst place in Belfast for customer service, takes about 30 mins to get served at the bar, awful music, some of our food was burnt, bouncers seem to be on a power trip and the food and drinks are ridiculosly overpriced. Give it a miss.

Gets manic at the weekends, queues to get in, waiting ages at the bar and queues for the loo. It’s a nice place but i prefer nt to spend my whole night WAITING for something. Expensive compared to other places too.

If you want to go somewhere different for a coffee and cake. Café Vaudeville is your place. It’s like going into a set from one of those 1920 gansters movie’s. The décor is luxurious, with hanging chandeliers, long curtains ornate glass. Really something truly different. Oh the coffee and cakes, well priced and comparable to any large coffee chain you may frequent. You can also have food and drink. Salads, sandwiches, even jacket potatoes and a multitude of cocktails also worth a try. There is champagne bar with live music in the evening. It can get busy but if you are willing to wait it’s worth. Children welcome in the daytime and they may even enjoy the unusual setting. It is also a welcome distraction from shopping in the heart of Belfast. A must see, it’s not often you can drink coffee in this environment.
