Called in here for a cup of tea one day with a few friends. I was going to get something to eat, but it all looked a bit dodgy and unappetising. The place is clean and spacious, and looks comfortable. Until, that is, you realise that it’s time to endure the odd wobbly table, swaying back and forth every time I put the enormous weight that is a cup of tea on it. The muffins didn’t appeal to me either, especially at £1.70 a go. It seems to me that the demand for coffee shops led someone to think«I’ve a good idea, I’ll open a coffee shop that sells some overpriced foodstuffs, put two teenagers in to run the place, and everyone will flock to it.» Not so, I’m afraid. It lacks character and appeal. When three standard hot beverages came to over a fiver, I nearly took a buckle in my eye! Apparently the coffee wasn’t bad, but tea is tea, and at over £1.70 a cup I’d expect the coffee to have a dash of something in it to make it Irish! Or is this normal for a cup of coffee these days? Regardless, an uninspiring place altogether.
