Beckenham, United Kingdom
Diamond House have been there, seen it, done it. Over the last 20-​odd years, they’ve been a Beckenham staple, right by the War Memorial at the bottom end of the high street. I think I’ve been eating there all that time, bar a brief period where the current owners took a break from running it. They offer good value lunchtime specials at 3.80 a pop, which drags all the Asian kids in from the local language school, which is a ringing endorsement if ever there was one. They don’t do anything complicated or high end, it’s just a solid and consistent Chinese takeaway.
