Grace & Favour

I swithered between three and four stars here, for a couple of reasons.
After two visits to Grace and Favour I can confirm that the food is very tasty. The Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Sandwich (which I ordered on both occasions) was sizeable and came on lovely fresh bread. The cakes I’ve tried were also tasty and there seems to be a nice selection changing daily.
However, I have to say what no one else has said — it’s not cheap! If you’re looking for a cheap lunchtime treat this is not the place — be prepared to pay more than usual for a bowl of soup or sandwich. Added to this, the service is merely fine. Not awful, but by no means brilliant and on the second of my visits we definitely seemed to be forgotten about for a while.
So, for food Grace and Favour ticks all the boxes, but I just couldn’t give that fourth star.

I found this little gem whilst out in the car but its taken me a good few months to actually go to it… why!!?
I love Grace and Favour, admittedly I have only had cake and coffee on a couple of visits so far but from this alone I absolutly recommend it. Firstly the cake options are beautiful, and I was very happy to find they, on occasion, have gluten free/​dairy free. I was fortunate to try the dairy free chocolate cake — amazzing!!! Coffee is by Dear Green, a little mild for my liking bit still enjoyable.
The menu sounds utterly delicious and seems to have a fair selection of healthy option so I will soon be back to try this. The décor is stunning, staff have always been very friendly and chatty.
A new great find, I will most deffinetly be back… soon!

Great ambience created by Susan and her staff. I’ve mostly eaten before — all v. nibblesome but this morning, mostly outside in the sunshine, I had a coke, two coffees, and a delish herbal tea to sustain four hours of chat. Perfect…

This is my favourite lunch joint near my work! The staff is fabulous, the restaurant is cute and the food is delicious. Susan the owner, I met on my first time in, is a doll.
I had the Lentil Pine Nut Pork Roll special (see picture) and it was amazingly delicious! It sounded a bit funky but it was lovely. It came with a nice little side of greens with a vinaigrette. The dough that makes the ‘roll’ was my favourite part, almost like a crisp pastry dough.
I followed my lunch with a wonderful almond raspberry tart. Yum!
This time I’m trying the mushroom toast! I will let you know how it is!
