This Pub is a jewel. High quality local meat and produce cooked extremely well. The Tunworth cheese platter is a must and a great dish to share. Pheasant, venison or duck; it doesn’t matter they are all very good. Great beer selection with occasional surprises from Peter. I saved the best for last, desserts are Fran’s little creations; beautiful to look at but even better to enjoy.
Fran and Peter are two of the nicest people you may ever meet, they care about their customers and it shows with the food, drink and atmosphere. That’s why every time I come to Basingstoke (from San Diego, CA) I stop in to see Fran and Peter.

Local ale from with 20 mile radius, good local food cooked really well, not the cheapest but the best we have found, really consistent, does get very busy during peak times so best to book. suggest mid week for most comfortable time and Saturday lunch seems quiet, busy the rest of the time!
