Specialties
We are a small independent café located within the beautiful Old Court House Recreation Grounds. Whilst slightly ‘tucked away’ we are just a two minute walk from the High Street.
Our focus is on excellent coffee & teas and outstanding service. Our menu is small (as is our kitchen!) yet perfectly formed. We bake every night so the counter is often bursting with home baked treats of the highest quality.
Breakfast and lunch is built heavily around our love of sourdough bread… however everything is also available gluten free. We also have a seasonal homemade soup on the menu, daily.
In the summer we have a bouncy castle to keep the little ones amused, and seating for 80 people overlooking the park. You can hire the bouncy castle and our Party Pavilion for children’s parries, or a refined grown-up afternoon tea. Dogs are also welcome.
In our first year we’ve strongly cemented ourselves in to the heart of the Barnet community. We have hosted charity events, outdoor cinema and a Christmas fair with skate-rink and grotto. Keep a close eye on our website, as new ideas are happening all the time!
History
Established in 2013.
The café was formerly a charity-run venture and had been closed for around 18 months. Local mum, Sophia, took a two year break from her day job to open The Old Courthouse Café, with the aim of becoming the hub of the Barnet community.
Liam was brought onboard to manage the café on a day to day basis, and we’ve built quite a following locally. We also built a strong team. Some are trained Baristas, some are local teens who work with us at the weekends. The one thing we all share is a love of exceptional customer service.
