Description

Specialties

‘The Blood and Tears Walk’ is a rave-reviewed scary London walk about serial killers (including Jack the Ripper, of course, but also lesser-known serial killers), execution sites, conspiracy theories, secret tunnels etc. The walk provides a lot of information but in a highly entertaining fashion. Declan did psychology at university and was a professional actor and so the tour is quite psychologically intense. The tour has been described as both «brilliant» (many times) and «chilling». Also «informative» and «creepy»…

History

Established in 1999.

‘The Blood and Tears Walk’ has been honed over the 14 years of its history (and thousands of performances), but the major change has been the greatly increased publicity about the tour in various forms of media. The tour has featured on television programmes (Including the BBC, and also ‘Most Haunted’), and on various radio stations, nationally and internationally. The tour was also featured twice in the Evening Standard’s magazine and there are literally millions of references to it on the internet. Put in the phrase ‘Horror Walk’ — not even London Horror Walk! — and I am in the first couple of results of millions of results worldwide. Most importantly, tens of thousands of people have been on the tour and the reviews on TripAdvisor, for example, have been amazing. I think it is not an exaggeration to say that ‘The Blood and Tears Walk’ has now earned its right to be acknowledged as a horror classic…

Meet the Business Owner

Declan M.

Business Owner

Declan McHugh moved from Northern Ireland to London in 1981 after university, and after careers in both research and acting, spent a year researching both ‘The Blood and Tears Walk’ and ‘The Shakespeare City Walk’. He has now spent 14 years actually performing ‘The Blood and Tears Walk’ and the Shakespeare one. Declan lives in West London with his girlfriend, daughters and a couple of thousand books on serial killers, execution sites, murders, prisons, conspiracy theories and general weird and dark stuff. His girlfriend occasionally tells him to turn covers round so she can’t see them. In May 2012 Declan’s ‘Bloody London’ book was published by Crimson Publishing in both paperback and kindle editions and sold over 1000 copies in the first six months.
