Fullerton Arms

Stopped by here for lunch on a bus tour to the Giant’s Causeway but I found the food to be very poor quality. There were very few options on the menu (stew, soup and sandwich, burgers, veg stir fry), and the dining room was really old. Me and friend ordered the soup/​sandwich combo, and there was only an option of white bread. The bread was mainly full of mayonnaise so it was really unhealthy, and the soup was like canned soup in that it was very watery with an artificial taste. It also had a strange colour to it. We paid £6 for it which I thought was high for such poor quality food. Also it took quite a long time to arrive.
Also the hole for the toilet paper dispenser was really narrow making to almost impossible to pull out.
The only good thing that I found was that the staff were friendly, but overall I wouldn’t recommend this place for lunch.

A great experience in a charming town. Hotel was convenient with ample parking. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff is amazing. Had a fun pub down stairs and a top notch restaurant with their spin on an Irish breakfast. Best coffee I’d had my entire trip.

We had a two night stay here. The guesthouse is a bit old-​fashioned and could do with a paint and some new furniture. The adjoining bar/​restaurant was lovely — the atmosphere was nice and the food very tasty. Staff were friendly too. The hotel is situated close to the Ropebridge in Ballintoy, and is a short drive from all the other sites and attractions that the North Coast has to offer, like the Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Portrush, Portstewart, beaches, Ballycastle (where you can travel to Rathlin Island), and Dunluce Castle. The time of year we went wasn’t great (winter) as it was too cold to stay very long at the different places, and Portrush was pretty much closed down for the winter so none of the attractions were open, and even a lot of the cafes were closed. Because we got round the sites in a short space of time, we did get a little bored since we were staying in the Fullerton Arms for two nights, and it isn’t really the sort of place you can spend hours in as it’s really somewhere to sleep and eat. I’d recommend it if you are going in the summer months and planning to visit a lot of sites — it’s a cheap place to stay and isn’t too far from anywhere if you are driving.

Stayed here many of times now, and would recommend it to anyone. Staff are unbelievably friendly and always there to help! Food is top notch, I recommend the bang bang chicken, YUM!!! 5 star b&b! And if you are a game of thrones fan you will love it!

We went for a quick meal in between visiting the Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway and clearly we arrived at the wrong time! We arrived at 1.30pm on a Friday, just after a small tour van had arrived and just before a large tour bus whose orders had already been rung through so we had a bit of a wait for our food but it wasn’t much more than 15 minutes.
Three of the four people in the group had the cod and all reported it was delicious. The batter was light, crispy and tasty and the chips that were ordered as a side were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The garlic wedges were also excellent.
There is some knowledge among the staff about food intolerances eg. gluten free foods on their menu but it was a challenge to find something appropriate and they don’t use free range meats which was sad but can’t be asking for the world! Overall, it was a nice place, the dining room especially was really good. The service was a bit slow but I can understand they were run off their feet. It’s a decent small village meal.
