OK, if I ever want a really decent set of shoes, this is the place I go. I was always impressed that Clarks always took the time to correctly measure your feet, not just the length, but also the width as well. Then they would bring out a shoe that always seemed to fit me like a glove. All leather, leather soles, whatever. They were always very comfortable. I’ve had 3 pairs from here now and each pair has lasted me for ages. They are all well made and still very comfortable to walk in.

Upstairs is the childrens shoe Department where you can have your childrens feet measured by a machine which photographs your feet and works out what size and fitting you need. This gives the assistant a starting point. I found the selection of shoes isn’t brilliant but the shoes do fit well, are leather so polish up well unlike cheaper non leather shoes which get scuffed or the leather coating peels off too easily. Its great that my daughter actually outgrows the shoes rather than the shoe not lasting. Have made the mistake before of buying cheaper shoes but having to replace them quickly, better to spend a bit more and they last. Situated at the High Street entrance to the Hale Leys shopping centre.
