This is a Chinese take away and classic fish and chip shop rolled into one. There is the normal chippy selection of sausage, pies(including the mysteriously vague meat pie), fish, gravy etc; however they also offer a full Chinese menu to boot. It’s in a small parade of shops and there are a few parking spaces on the hill if you need to drive here. It’s open for lunch and quite late in the evening(generally after the other chip shops close), so it can be a saviour if you are too late for the other options in the area. Can get pretty busy so it might take a little while to get your order, however they are good at taking the orders ahead of the queue to ensure your wait is minimal(though ask ahead of the queue if you are after a fish as they are done to order). Since this is a real chippy and Chinese take away, they have made a couple of quick and dirty fusion options that seem to be quite popular. I don’t know if you’ve ever had fried or boiled rice with chips and gravy before. I certainly hadn’t considered it until this place suggested it. It’s pretty wrong, but wrong in a good way. Personally, I would go to the ‘Chinese kitchen’ for a classic Chinese meal this place is pretty good, though I really do consider it to be a chip shop that simply happens to also do Chinese food.
