We went here to get some takeaway on New Year’s Day to feed four hungry people staying in a lodge on Loch Lomond, but I’ve eaten here before over the years as this is a well established restaurant in the area, and for good reason. Friendly staff, good food(we reckon no MSG is used), and for the price pretty good portions! For starters I had the prawn toast which had a nice thick layer of mushed up prawns on it and wasn’t too greasy, and then for the main course some Yung Chow Fried Rice(egg fried rice with shrimp, ham, peas, pork and probably a few other things in there too, it’s crammed!) and the Crispy Shredded Beef. Both main course portions were big enough that I struggled to finish them, so much so that there was still a good third of the rice leftover for lunch the next day! The Princess Rose is never going to be a five star place that blows you away but it will, as it has been for the past 15 years or so, be a good dependable place for some top grub and some friendly chat.
