I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the valet, and the wine list. But my only complaint would be that the food is not as good as the prices would imply. Even for the Caribbean it was overpriced considering the quality. I ordered the fish crudo, which was good, but I general a bit under seasoned. The scallops were a little underdone. I suggest that you lower your expectations, then you will be fine.

Wonderful atmosphere, décor, attentive staff, and absolutely delicious food that won’t be found elsewhere on the island. This is our second visit to St Thomas and a stop at the OSFH is a must for us. Try the grouper or the vegetarian gnocchi. Excellent wine list as well…

Terrible service, mediocre food. There is better food at this price point in St. Thomas(try blue orchid or Oceana). The service though, a couple was seated about 10 minutes after us, ordered appetizers and entrees just like we did, but for some reason they received ALL their food before we did. Okay waiter comes by several times to let us know food is in the way, finally takes the blame and says that he forgot to tell them to fire our entrees when I’m staring at the other table(which incidentally ordered at least one of the same dishes we did). Still hanging in there, we finally get our entrees(about 40 minutes after our appetizers were served), good but nothing mind blowing. Staff takes our plates, 10 minutes to dessert menus and the anther 25 minutes for the waiter to come back and see if we want dessert. NO, CHECKPLEASE! Which of course comes fast. It’s the tropics 1.5 — 2 hours is fine for a 2 course meal if it’s well paced. But, THREEHOURS most of which was spent waiting is unacceptable.

I’ll start by saying Old Stone Farmhouse is a lovely, beautiful, delicious restaurant. The location is hidden and private. The ambiance is rustic yet sophisticated. The menu is exciting and the food we ordered was wonderful. All signs pointed to a perfect experience. Until … Two patrons each ordered an appetizer and a salad and an entrée. We each started with a martini and decided to share a bottle of wine. I happened to check in via Unilocal(as I often do) and found we could get a complimentary dessert. Showing this to the waiter, we were told they«can’t get that off Unilocal» and they«can’t honor it.» Now. Not to harp, but after a $ 220 check before tip, would it kill them to give us a $ 10 piece of cake? It just seemed tacky to have to hear the waiter gripe about a freaking free dessert(which you know is already price jacked, so how much would it really have hurt the restaurant?). Sad to say, this silly little faux pas tainted our experience and made the difference between and 20% tip and the 15% we ended up leaving. I recommend the restaurant but can’t give it all the stars.

Just had dinner there and it was GREAT and so was Cory our waiter. All the courses were spaced out which we love and it made for a super enjoyable dinner Highly recommend for anyone visiting St Thomas and looking for an nice evening with good food.

Had dinner here during a business trip in St. Thomas. Exceptional service and food quality as well as presentation. Would certainly visit again next time I am in St. Thomas. It is a bit out of the way and about a good 20minute cab ride away from Frenchman’s Reef.

What can I say except that I loved it. Seared Tuna was delicious. Worth every penny. Ask for Cory he was one of the best parts of the experience.

The best meal we have had on the island so far. It was very good and rivaled some of the best meals we have had at any restaurant. The best was when my son(13 yrds old) took a bite of his grilled spearfish. His eyes just widened and his expression changed from«I am bored» to «holy crap I really like this meal». He then went on for the next few minutes about how easy it was to cut through the fish and how delicious it was. His second best comment was«oh what is that, that is really good». This was in reference to the polenta that came with his meal. My wife had the scallops, daughter the vegetarian pasta, and I had the short rib. All were very good. The short rib was too much food. While very good, I wish I had picked the grilled pork. We had the desserts too. The tiramisu, crème brûlée, NY cheesecake, and pumpkin roll were all very good. In general, it was a very good meal. So why not 5 stars? Easy! We got the bill. This was easily the most expensive meal we have ever paid for in our lives. It was easily over $ 100 per person.

The Old Stone Farmhouse is a super cool spot for a nice meal. Open windows in a 300+ year old USVI building… tough to beat. The bar is well stocked and they have a very interesting CDP wine list(rest is a bit uninspiring). I started with the charcuterie board, which was delicious. My only complaint would be it was a bit light on the meat, but the cheeses were excellent. For my entrée I chose the Ahi Tuna, which was also very good(not the best I’ve had, but I would order it again). Cooked perfectly and served with a nice presentation. We finished the night with a 21-year old scotch(Glenlivet 21), which made my night — I was happy to see such a great scotch on the menu for $ 30. Overall, a really good experience and a solid 4-star.

Our waiter was just the best. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Very fast service. Very friendly. Recommended the best dishes for dinner ! Even the valet guy was amazing… ! He went to get our car without having us to prompt him. I highly recommend this restaurant. By far, the best restaurant in St. Thomas.

Brunch was lovely due to the gorgeous setting, table side service and food quality. Loved the lox n bagels w a superb Bloody Mary! Recommend most any of the dishes on offer incl eggs Benedict on crab cakes, French toast and omelette: don’t fill up on the Bloody Marys it will rob space needed for generous portions. Enjoyed a Gruner Veitleiner white wine w brunch. Use valet parking and stretch your legs in the gardens. A destination eatery that deserves credit for not having distraction from conversations like tvs or loud music: – we deeply appreciate that. Great service and value.

Food is still great but unfortunately the service seems to have fallen off a bit… and you can no longer go down into the kitchen a pick your own fish or chops. I don’t need someone hawking over us but 30 minutes to get a glass of water and to order a drink seems a bit long(about 45 minutes until we final got drinks). And if you check-in on Unilocal and expect to get a free dessert as advertised; think again. They no longer honor the promotion and went as far as saying, «We don’t know how to take it down.» If the food wasn’t spot on I would have gone lower than 3 stars.

Old stone farmhouse is one of the most culinarily revolutionary restaurants that I’ve been to. I dined here once last year and once this year, and both times, the menu has consisted of the most interesting combinations of food that makes delicious dishes. For instance, one of the coolest dishes that I ever ate was last year’s ‘alligator and chicken.’ The chefs are awesome and love to try completely new things. Your meal will definitely be on the pricier side but on vacation to St. Thomas, it is a really cool experience to dine at Old stone farm house.

When visiting islands, we always look forward to fresh seafood and casual dining atmospheres. It’s typically hard to find anything ‘inventive’ or ‘fancy’ and the locales that claim to be usually wind up disappointing. We were not disappointed with Old Stone Farmhouse. We had a little confusion with our reservations made through the hotel, but Old Stone Farmhouse accommodated and made sure we were able to get in that night. When we arrived, there was a wedding happy hour taking place and we were seated promptly in the beautiful indoor dining room. Everyone working at the restaurant was a pleasure and our server was friendly and funny. Our party of 6 all ordered different things including appetizers and drinks. The menu is not overly pricey(everything on the island is expensive), and everything was delicious. We even had coffee accidentally spilled all over(by an absolutely mortified and apologetic waitress) and not a thing about the evening was tainted. The only bummer was that we hadn’t realized that 20% gratuity was already added to the bill and I’m just now realizing that we added 20% gratuity to an already added gratuity… so that’s a big fat tip. Seems all restaurants do that, but we weren’t paying close enough attention.

Great little restaurant! Four of us dined on a Sunday night and really enjoyed the ambiance, food, service & drinks! The food was fresh prepared, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was low light/chill!

This place is amazing simply for the atmosphere of the building. If you are allocating one night to a special dinner while on the island, this is the place. Very romantic and more upscale. While everything in the islands is more causal, you will want to take your dress up a notch or two when going there. We started off with the Fallen Fontina Cheese Soufflé and shared it. Very good. My wife and I both had the filet. Which was prepared perfectly. I heard that it can be difficult to get a good steak on the island due to having to ship everything in. If you are dying for a steak, Old Stone Farmhouse is your option. With that said, while the filet was perfectly prepared, there was nothing«special» about them. Probably as plain Jane as you can get at any typical steakhouse. Filet, greens(either green beans or asparagus — can’t remember), and celery root purée. Between the filet and the cheese soufflé, nothing really pushed bounds or sang with new flavors. Maybe that was our fault that we didn’t select the right menu options, but after having dinner at Epernay the night before, this was not as much as a culinary adventure. One final point, our waiter seemed very pushy. Pushy in the sense that he wanted to rush our table through and close out his night. We were eating the appetizer and he was harassing us to order entrees even when we told him we were not ready and wanted to slow it down. Even with these two quibbles, I still recommend the restaurant. A solid 4 stars, but not a perfect 5.

Our first time at this restaurant. Not easy to find, but well worth the drive. When you arrive you’re greeted by the complimentary valet. You walk down old stone steps which lead to an open patio area canopied by beautiful local trees. Inside the rustic beauty of wood floors and old stone walls is beautiful. Since we were at a wine tasting, we had 5 courses that were all deliciously paired with the wines we tasted. Presentation was incredible & the service was right on. The staff was serving 30 people and they did it flawlessly. One thing that was a disappointment, considering the class of the dining. In the ladies room there was some sort of watered down soap by the lavatory which smelled like old dirty water. When I asked about it to the hostess, her only comment is that it works. It would have been 5 stars, but the lack of consideration in the bathroom was tacky.

This is my first Unilocal review, but the meal warrants comment. I grew up in the Virgin Islands and take great pride in the food. This restaurant, unfortunately, so greatly offends my heritage that it does not deserve its reputation for a quality meal. A general principle in restaurants is that hot meals should come out hot as though they came from the pan to your plate in short order. In this regard, the restaurant failed so miserably that they only get one star. Of my party of four, not one of us received an appetizer or entrée that was more than ever so slightly above room temperature. I ordered their wild boar flatbread appetizer and had to send it back for being offensively cold. When it was returned to me, it was barely warm enough to be considered edible. With respect to entrees, my mother ordered a medium steak. She sent it back TWICE for being cooked too rare. My father and girlfriend ordered the scampi. They both sent it back for being too cold. When it came back, they were still unsatisfied with the temperature. I ordered the venison Osso bucco, and the mash potatoes were room temperature and terribly bland. When I sent it back, they brought me a new plate at the same cold temperature. For $ 35 a plate, you should never get food at the wrong temperature. Had this been a $ 10 a plate restaurant, this would barely have been tolerable. However, at the price they charge this was the lowest quality meal I have ever had in my hometown. To add insult to injury, despite having four patrons send their meals back for the poor quality of the meal, they made no attempt to sincerely apologize or offer to discount our meal. No quality restaurant I have been to in the states would ever allow ALLFOUR PATRONs to send back their meals without admitting that there is something amiss. Do not go to this restaurant. It is certainly not worth it.

Wow I could not be more disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the place is absolutely beautiful but that’s all they’ve got going for them. The food is only okay and for the outrageous prices, you expect a whole lot more. The service was good but we were a little surprised that we were charged for water. A little bait and switchy feeling to our group. They were literally already pouring bottled water when we sat. Quickly asked if we wanted bottled or sparkling water. Tap would have been perfectly fine. Portions are small, food was foo foo tasting and our waiter actually had no idea there was cheese on their«vegetarian» dish. Yikes. Being a local here I can tell you there are dozens of other places I will recommend with a view, better food that won’t break the bank. Really bummed that I spent an evening here. So was the rest of my group. They have a gorgeous location and I believe that is the only thing keeping them in business.
