Was put up here by Turkish airlines after a missed connection due to a delayed connecting flight with Turkish. Was told we’d be put in a 5 star hotel, which this clearly was not. The room was an OK size, but as a solo traveller got put in a room with two single beds, obviously not comfortable at all. When I asked to swap to a room with a double bed they said they didn’t have any available and offered to join the beds, but one of the bed spreads had a hole from what looked like a cigarette burn, it was too disgusting so I declined. Room facilities were very basic overall. The hotel offered us free dinner: the worst hotel restaurant dinner I’ve ever had, even in lesser starred hotels. The bread rolls were hard and not fresh, the vegetables also didn’t look fresh. The meat patties were burnt and the French fries also looked like they’d been sitting around for a while even though dinner had just started: they weren’t even hot. The selection of food for a buffet style restaurant was extremely limited and the food was just really really poor quality. The desserts were even worse. I tried a crème brulee the cream just didn’t taste good and even the hard sugary bit on the top wasn’t hard and wasn’t done right at all. They also served what seemed like caramelised bananas and the bananas also didn’t look or taste fresh. It was awful. The pictures of the hotel make it look much bigger. The lobby is small and unimpressive, the restaurant was small and very basic design. Even the escalators I was told to go up to the restaurant didn’t work and I ended up walking up the motionless escalator. This place was really, really shabby and the staff weren’t friendly or helpful either.
