Zurich Marriott Hotel

For a Marriott it didn’t disappoint. Even in Zurich where everything is crazy expensive it was pretty reasonably prices .
Executive lounge was open ²⁴⁄₇ including on the weekends and they always had a nice selection of fresh fruit, salty snacks, and sweets.
It was about an 8 minute walk to downtown which was totally doable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great experience!

This hotel is remarkable for one thing: its averageness. The décor is average, the rooms are average, the beds are average, the bathrooms are average. Absolutely nothing is exceptional… that is, except the service. The service is exceptionally annoying.
Starting at 8am, housekeeping proceeded to knock on my door every hour on the hour until 11am when they saw me leave my room (they were standing in the hall outside). I was out three hours.
Five minutes after I returned, they knocked again. Annoyed, I asked them why they didn’t make up the room in my absence. They just looked at me with a blank expression. I then asked them not to disturbed my room again and they said they would let the front desk know.
Since then, I’ve had a supervisor and two different mini bar attendants knock — and then let themselves in — before I could get up.
When the staff aren’t knocking at my door, you can hear them doing the same on every door down the length of the hallway.
Avoid this hotel unless you are prepared to get up early and be out of your room for most of the day.
On a good note, the hotel’s Thai restaurant — White Elephant — is excellent.

Fantastic customer service in every department.
Starting pre-​arrival via prompt and professional correspondence from Ms. Simone Schmid a manager at the hotel who confirmed our requests and had a very thoughtful toast in our room upon our arrival for our anniversary.
The team at the front desk were superb as well, when the bell hop was tied up, they jumped in and helped instead of just waiting.
The hotel is good, but what makes it special is it’s staff. It’s such a pleasure to see a good team in action!

I really like this hotel it is extremely enjoyable. The Staff is extremely friendly and they have a executive lounge which is included in most room rates. It is a lot like Marriott Berlin, Germany. They have great rooms that are clean and actually relatively large.

It is a nice hotel: clean rooms, helpful staff. Very close to the train station. Make sure you check your cc carefully after you come back. When I checked out, the bill was correct and I signed it. A few days later, when I was already in the US, I found additional charges for minibar that I never used. The issue was resolved in my favor, but left a bad taste in my mouth.

Worst hotel, worst customer service. Made us wait 2 hrs for our rooms. No proper explanation. Bed bugs were found in some rooms. Avoid this place!!!

I love this hotel. It is stunning. We were in the Presidential suite, so I don’t know what a regular room looks like.
Our room was beyond amazing, a full living room, large bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Our balcony wrapped around the entire room. The view was breathtaking. Hotel staff members were friendly and accommodating.
Now, the concierge lounge. A-​MAZ-​ING the food was excellent. It is only supposed to be snacks, but there were nights when we didn’t even need dinner after eating. The snacks and deserts were some of the best that I’ve seen at a Marriott.
The location of this hotel is great too, it is a 5 minute walk to the train station which is right at the edge of where the city starts.
I HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are staying in Zurich.

The internet here is soo horrible, that anything else just does not count. For the amount of money you charge, a decent internet condition is no too much to provide. This opinion comes from a 10 day experience.

Great location. Perfect experience. Exceptional service. I love a beautiful, spacious, full-​service Marriott. Minus the cigar lounge on the lobby-​level, we loved this property. The rooms we bigger that typical European sized rooms. The location is walking distance to everything. The lounge is refreshing and relaxing. We enjoyed all the amenities this property has to offer, especially the concierge service in helping us plan our visit.

I have nothing but good things to say about this great hotel. All the accommodations are excellent. Great shower, wonderful furnishings, and very friendly staff. Checked for bedbugs and not one was to be found! They have an automatic coffee maker in the lobby for espresso or kaffee crème. It grinds the coffee beans per cup while you wait. Literally the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. And it’s free! In the lobby! Just walk right up to it and push the button!

If you are a cigar smoker, this is one of the best lounges in Zurich. As a Davidoff Lounge, it represents the brand with flying colors. They also have a great selection of Cuban and other cigars. The prices are very reasonable and I found them about the same as the local cigar shops. The scotch and port selection are also amazing as well. Ventilation is very good and a great way to end the day.

Very nice and great location. The business lounge is excellent. Cigar room off of hotel bar is a plus.

Ein wirklich tolles Hotel. Service und Qualität der Ausstattung sind hervorragend. Auch kleinste Wünsche erledigte der Zimmerservice umgehend.
Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und Abwechslungsreich und die Zimmer modern und großzügig ausgestattet. Hier komme ich gerne wieder!
Die Lage ist sehr Zentral, deshalb ist der Bahnhof zu Fuss in etwas 10 Minuten zu erreichen.
Mein Tip: Da das Hotel an einer großen Ausfallstrasse liegt, beim Check-​In nach einem Zimmer im hinteren Bereich, abseits der Strasse fragen.

This is a very solid business hotel, with a few quirks. I recently spent seven nights here on business, and I’d definitely stay there again (at least until the company will pay for the Park Hyatt — not in this life).
LOCATION
I found the location quite convenient, at least to my work. The hotel is also a few minute walk along the river (very pretty) to the Bahnhofstrasse, the train station, the old town area, et cetera. I never took public transit so I can’t comment, but it is close to the train station (which has trains to the airport).
The hotel is also well-​located for a jog. The hotel has maps in the fitness center of jogging routes along the river (though you could probably figure it out on your own). My favorite was to run along the river down to the lake, back through the old town, and then past the hotel a bit.
ROOMS
The room is a very standard Marriott room. All the comforts you need and rely upon the brand for. Good, but nothing special. But no special European «quirks» (read: cold shower, weird bidet, tiny sink, shower that sprays onto the toilet, etc etc etc) either.
AMENITIES
The restaurant Echo is pretty good, and has a good Fr. 69 menu with three courses and unlimited wine. The exec lounge is very nice, and has free wine and a great breakfast (saving you Fr. 40). The fitness center is nice, and the equipment is quality. Very happy with the setup.
Room service is incredibly expensive, but fine. I spent Fr. 80 on three courses, delivered quickly, but nothing special here either.
SERVICE
Maaaaaybe it’s because they are Swiss. The service here is just a bit odd.
So conditioner. That stuff you put in your hair. Well, my five co-​workers and I were talking, and we realized that you only get it if you’re Marriott gold or above. Fr. 330 night and no conditioner! Us lowly Marriott silver members don’t get it unless you ask. One co-​worker asked, and suddenly a little bottle of conditioner appeared every morning. Very very odd, if you ask me.
The staff also begin cleaning rooms frightfully early (before 9 am). Put your privacy sign up! The turndown service in the «evening» also starts sometime after noon. I was in the room at 1 PM or 3 PM or whatever and the maid would attempt to offer my turndown service (making the bed and leaving a couple of chocolates). Very odd as well.
The concierge has good restaurant recommendations.
The service at this place is slightly weird, but everything else about it is solid. I’ll definitely be back (sadly — Zurich itself is lacking).

Ok, das hatte ich zwar schon im Internet gelesen, aber nun hörte ich es direkt. Was soll das für uns bedeuten?!
Leider sind deswegen die gebuchten Zimmer nicht bezugsfertig, aber wir möchten sie gerne in den neu renovierten Teil einbuchen.

Gesagt getan! Ein Zimmer, komplett frisch renoviert. Welche Wünsche hat man mehr?! Der Farbgeruch war noch in der Nase. Die Betten waren sowas von bequem, ein Traum! Super Klasse!
Das Frühstücksbufett war sehr gut, aber erst nach dem wir einen Platz hatten. Das dauerte und wurde mit Schlangestehen belohnt.
Nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit gings los!
Leckereien an jeder Ecke. Obst, Pancakes, Brötchen, Wurst, Käse und viel mehr!
Das Frühstück kann man sehr gut geniessen und sitzt auch noch sehr entspannt mit einem guten Service im Restaurant!

We booked this hotel through Priceline, and got an amazing rate. Despite being under renovation during our visit, the hotel was clean, spacious and beautiful, and our room was fantastic.
The hotel has two restaurants in-​house, and although I can’t recommend white elephant, their Swiss restaurant (I can’t recall the name) was great.
Our room was large, spacious, clean and comfortable with central air and enough amenities to make for a great stay. It was the perfect home after a long day of sight seeing.
We had two chief complaints, however. This first is that we were charged around $ 50 of mini-​bar usage despite not having touched it. The charge appeared on my credit card a week after we checked out, and wasn’t mentioned during our check out. A quick call to the front desk after we found the charge resolved the issue rather easily, but it was still a hassle we would have preferred not to go through and I can’t help but think they did it as a way to try and make up some revenue from our cheap Priceline rate.
Our second complaint is that it is just out of the way enough to be inconvenient. We walked everywhere, and it became a bit if a hassle to walk downtown from the room, enough that we ended up making less trips downtown than we otherwise would have (no casual trips to a café or for dinner, for example). As beautiful and comfortable as the hotel is, if we come back to Zurich we will make it a point to find a more central location to stay in.

On a recent, unexpected layover our airline booked us at the Marriott. We have stayed here before on pleasure, and it was a welcome place to return. The room was large with a nice view and a balcony. It’s a quick walk from the train station and offers several dining options from Thai to Swiss.
The lounge is really wonderful. We have access as platinum Marriott members but if the buy up is an option, your likely to get your money’s worth. We enjoyed breakfast, drinks, snacks and heavy snacks with free flowing wine and beer. I think hard spirits are extra, but the local beer and wine on the bar made happy hour fun and great chance to try the local beverages.

We stayed at this hotel for the first night of our honeymoon and were treated with 5-​star service all the way. From reception, to the surprise treat waiting for us when we got to our room, we will very happily remember our stay at this hotel and look forward to coming back next time life brings us to this beautiful city. Also, the bar in the restaurant was great late night for a nightcap cocktail and light appetizer and had a well traveled crowd.

Clean, comfortable rooms and a great lobby bar (I had an epic Manhattan). Very friendly, helpful staff.
Only dwnside is that it is a little bit of a walk to the Niederdorf area and Bahnhofstrasse, but not so far that it isn’t walkable.

When I stayed in Zurich for a weekend, I decided to stay here. I am glad I did!
The hotel is modern and clean, the rooms are very nice for a Marriott, and the service is great too. It has a fairly central location as well. I like the views from the rooms too. I highly recomend if you are staying in Zurich and are a Marriott member.

Fast jeder Künstler, der nicht gerade das Hallenstadtion füllt, aber zumindest im Dynamo auf der Bühne steht, steigt im Marriott ab. So ist es nicht ungewöhnlich, wenn man gerade in der Lobby einen Latte Macchiatto geniesst, dass plötzlich ein Rapper aus Amerika aus dem Lift steigt.
In erster Linie denke ich aber, dass das Marriott ein Hotel ist für Businessleute. Die Lage ist unschlagbar. Direkt in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofes (für ÖV-​Nutzer) und unmittelbar bei der Autobahnausfahrt an einer ziemlich befahrenen Strasse, liegt das Marriott, das von aussen ziemlich wenig hergibt. Im Inneren erwartet einen aber ein sehr gepflegtes Hotel, das eher überdurchschnittlich gut ist.
Das Hotel bietet für Touristen diverse interessante Packages wie zum Beispiel ein Wochenende im Marriot inklusive Helikopterflug über Zürich — für die Gäste, die es actionreich mögen.
Das Marriot hat selbstverständlich auch einen Fitnessbereich, der dann mit ein paar Geräten und einer kleinen Sauna relativ spärlich ausfällt.
Empfehlenswert für Leute wie mich, die kein Geld für eine Übernachtung haben, ist die gemütliche Lobby im Marriot, wo man kleine Snacks und Drinks geniessen kann. Sehr empfehlenswert: Mango-​Kürbis-​Suppe serviert mit knusprigen Käse-​Brot-​Stücken. Kostet zwar 14 Franken, aber irgendwie muss man ja sein Geld ausgeben.
