Fussball schauen. bei Champions League super Stimmung, allerdings sind die Preise stolz.

Ein Pint Smithwicks oder Magners, Fish & Chips, nettes Pub Interieur und am Sonntag Open Mic. So lässt sich die Zeit zwischen den Inselbesuchen im Kennedys ganz gut aushalten.

Typisches Pub in der Stadt; coole Location mit gutem Bier und Burger!
Ich kenne es eher als Apero location, im Sommer extrem gemütlich draussen, im Winter relativ überfüllt aber trotzdem cool. Das Publikum ist sehr gemischt, aber ein extremer Banker Überfluss ist nicht abzustreiten:-)
Die Burger sind auch sehr gut; zum lunch gibst sogar Studentenrabat;-)

This is a good place to come after work to have beer with group of friends or watching some games. Other than that. I would not come here for food or beer.
Beer isn’t particularly special or good. Price is not good either as it might be good for beer you can’t find anywhere else but other standard beer is priced at the same as others.
Food is not worth the price. Lamb stew should be called a Clear liquid soup with a few lamb meat and veggie chunks. Tasteless and looking unappetizing …
Baked potato was actually better but again, not worth the price.
I would come here after having some food if I come back.

Kennedy’s one of many — but is has its charms.
Zurich has plenty of pubs and Kennedy is a recent addition to the club. it’s sort of hard to say how well they can establish themselves along with hard-​hitting competitors like the Paddy’s, known for its wild nights or The Lion, who shares at least part of its kitchen with the well-​established Brasserie Lipp.
Food was okay, staff was friendly and the beer selection was okay. However, let’s be honest: Pubs are about the people you go there with or, even better, you meet there. And for those, Kennedy’s offers plenty of space. Along with the fact that the location is currently one of the most emerging ones in Zurich, with the Europaallee rapidly becoming a hot spot anyway, it’s a nice spot to start off an evening. And if things don’t go the you like, you can still take your party somewhere else — the Langstrasse is really close, even by foot.

Die Lage ist ideal, gleich hinter dem HB. Allerdings hat es auch eine Schule in der Nähe, so kann es ab und zu doch sehr voll werden. Also besser reservieren falls es Freitag Abend wird.
Nachdem ich drei Jahre in Dublin gelebt habe, gehe ich immer wieder gerne in Irish Pubs, welche es praktischerweise überall gibt.
Das Pub ist etwas dunkel, mit viel Holz und den üblichen kleinen Bildern an den Wänden. Ganz im klassischen irischen Pub Style und zum trinken ganz ok.
Natürlich gibt es mein lieblings Bier Smithwicks, Guinness und viele mehr. Zum essen gibts üblichen Pub Food wie Burger & Co. Die Chicken Wings für 1.- sind lecker und lassen sich mit verschiedenen Saucen kombinieren. Gut für den kleinen oder grossen Hunger. Das Club Sandwich hat mich leider nicht ganz überzeugt. Der Burger hingegen war ok.
Ideal für ein paar Drinks vor dem Essen.

A good Irish pub in Zurich !
Nothing special to tell about. It is a nice irish pub to go after work, or to go before going out. The service is good. And the food is great. But I really like bar food.
You should have a look, they do specials (Like for exemple on monday its chicken wings day — 1 Sfr. per wing).
It is a big irish pub, so easy to go with a lot of friends.

Kennedy’s is a great pub in a nice location near Sihlpost.
The food has always been good and the staff are friendly and attentive. When it is full inside and out you will have to be patient though! The place can get really packed.
It could use some more Irish food items though like Bangers and Mash, Sheppard’s Pie, and maybe a lamb stew. :)
It’s a great place to meet up with friends and/​or watch a football (soccer) game.

Took forever to serve us and then chased me to the door saying I didn’t pay. Blacklisted.

Die Dame im Service war über Mittag offensichtlich gestresst, an einem grossen Nebentisch ging etwas vergessen und sie haben etwas ungehalten auf die Reklamation reagiert, ihre Kollegin hat richtiggehend unfreundlich dreingeschaut.
Mein Clubsandwich war trocken: das trockene Pouletfleisch ohne saftigen Speck, ein labbriges Blatt Salat, eine Mikroscheibe Tomate und ein zu lange gebratenes Spiegelei musste ich mit Hilfe eines zugegeben feinen Panache verdrücken. Ein paar Rucolablätter, eine halbierte Cherrytomate und eine zerteilte Gurkenscheibe stellten einen kleinen Beilagensalat dar. Pommes Chips nature dazu passt für mich überhaupt nicht, aber das ist Geschmackssache.

Naja, das Kennedy’s ist drinnen sehr schön, mit dunklem Holz und so. Draussen hat es einen sehr grosse Terasse mit Sonnenstoren drüber, gleich auf die Lagerstrasse.
Der Burger war ganz gut, feines Fleisch und würzige Sauce, und eine kleine Portion ausgezeichneten Coleslaw dazu.
Aber die Pommes waren labberig und fade.
Service ziemlich im Stress, da über Mittag die Studenten von den umliegenden Hochschulen immer zur gleichen Zeit und in Horden kommen, also nicht so wahnsinnig gemütlich.

— we tried the Nussli Salad served with egg & walnuts (popular Swiss salad leaves, topped with chopped eggs, crispy bacon bits, walnuts, cherry tomatoes and a French dressing; 19.50 CHF); big portion; tasted well
Conclusion: I will come back to try the other salads, which also looked very delicious; prices are okay.

If it haven’t been the International Unilocal Monday Meet up I probably would never have stepped a foot into that pub. Why? Because ig looks so ugly expensive and snobby from the ojkt side. But don#t let this foolish fasade form walking in there, because inside there is a nice and comfortable Pub without the snobby feeling advertized from the outside.
The personell is very chatty and friendly. Unfortunately I ate on my way there but the fries and the pie other Unilocalers order later that night looked very delicious and were well presented on the plate.
So if not for the Pub but knowing a place having Smithwicks on the tab I will come back for sure.

Das Kennedy’s gleich bei der Europaallee und somit unweit vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt ist relativ neu. Da Lokal ist somit modern, aber doch klassisch irisch mit Holz eingerichtet. Mir gefällt es sehr.
Zwar ist das Pub ziemlich gross und geräumig, das kenne ich von Irish Pubs gar nicht so wirklich (auch nicht aus Irland), aber doch stimmt die Atmosphäre. Auch die Bierauswahl passt mir: Offen gibt es natürlich Guinnes, aber auch Smithwicks (mein Lieblingsbier aus Irland) und Boddingtons sowie Magners Cider. Carlsberg und Feldschlösschen Urtrüb gibt’s ebenfalls, aber naja.
Die Pints hier aber leider aber die europäische Grösse: 5dl und nicht 5.6 wie in Irland. Ein Smithwicks kostet so auch ca. 9 Franken, was ganz schön viel ist. Aber dafür ist es ja auch was spezielles.
Immer wieder finden Open Mic Nights statt, so wie letzten Montag, als ein junger und sehr talentierter Musiker mit Stimme und Gitarre echt gut performte. Und auch das Essen stimmt: Ich hab die Nachos mit Chili (Fleisch und co) für 13.50 und die Guinness-​Pie (Pastete mit Rindfleisch und Guinness-​Sauce mit Fries) für 24.00 probiert. Die Pommes sind ebenfalls lecker, und für den Burger muss ich unbedingt nochmals herkommen, um den auch zu bewerten. Das Essen ist also sehr lecker, und für ein Irish Pub toll (in der Schweiz; in Irland isst man fast immer gut).
Jeden Sonntag gibt’s hier auch Brunch, mit Full Irish Breakfast. Muss ich demnächst ausprobieren. Fussball wird auch gross geschrieben, so werden alle wichtigen Spiele auf Leinwand und grossem TV übertragen.
Auch die Bedienung, respektive die Bartypen waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ich hab mich echt sehr wohl gefühlt und werde ganz bestimmt sehr bald wieder gehen. Merci dass es euch gibt, Kennedy’s! 5 Sterne von mir.

I came here last night for my first Unilocal International Table event. I’ve never really hung out in this area of Zürich before, so it was cool to check out a new place. The surrounding buildings all looked fairly modern and new, which was kind of surprising, because I had an image of this area being kind of dumpy.
The pub had an old-​fashioned look with old-​style decorations on the wall, but everything seemed clean and new – which I really liked. I guess it’s been a while since I’ve been in a Zürich pub, because I have bad memories of stale cigarette smoke still lingering in other places right after they instilled the indoor smoking ban.
This bar is really spacious and has a lot of different kinds of beer on tap. I had two little glasses of Smithwick’s, because my fellow Unilocalers told me it’s difficult to find this Irish beer elsewhere in Zürich. It’s a really good-​tasting beer, and I would have downed more, except I had to work the next day.
I already had dinner before coming, so I couldn’t partake in the tasting-​looking menu. The fully-​loaded nachos and pot pies and fries looked REALLY yummy.
There was a guy named Mel who played the guitar and sang, and he was really good as a one-​man band. I think he was supposed to stop at one point because there was a soccer game on tv, but due to popular request, he was able to keep on playing.
The staff was really nice and spoke English. It was a bit loud to talk comfortably over the live music, but not impossible to have decent conversations. The only downside was that I didn’t see any wall hooks to hang up my winter coat. But other than that, I really liked this place.

Kennedy’s rocks for multiple reasons,
You can eat/​drink/​watch all the soccer seasons.
The house cut fries are so thick and tasty.
And with tons on tap, don’t choose a beer hasty.
The Guinness pie was hot, and you pour your own gravy–
comes with so much meat, it makes a heavy «food baby»!
The bar tenders were fab, and offered me beer tastes.
To order or pay, I never did wait!
They even had live music: an all-​in-​one lad named Mel.
He could play it all, and he played it so well!
The Unilocal guys made it cooler (if that’s even possible to do).
Come for a game, beer, or pub bites, I recommend it to you!

Kennedy’s is an Irish pub (sorry for stating the obvious) that opened up a few months ago in Zurich. Until that time Paddy Reilly’s had been the main stay when it come to irish pubs in Zurich. There was a definitely a bit of conjecture as to whether Zurich was big enough to support both pubs. And the result after the first few months is, it definitely is. Kennedy’s offers something completely different to Paddy’s, and there is a demand for this. It has more of a pub feel to it than Paddy’s. It is the place to go when you want to sit at the bar, or at a booth with a few mates for a few quiet pints, a chat and a laugh. It has many big screens to telecast live sporting events, with particular emphasis on football and rugby, and hosts the occasional quiz night. Definitely more your typical pub atmosphere, with good pub grub, leaving Paddy’s for the club/​dj/​dancing/​party-​mosphere. Every now and then Kennedy’s will get involved in some live music and on Mondays have started an open mic night, for those of you who are brave! ;)
