Elite Event: Viva España

Thanks again Simon for putting this on! 10 points for location and event selection. What better way to start your Friday night than tapas and sangria along the Langstrasse? The service was friendly, the food divine and the sangria flowing. Need I say more ;) I appreciated the time the manager took to explain the place, the food and what Tinto offers. I also really liked the touch of the photos from the Spanish Elite events making you realise that all around the globe Unilocalers are doing the same thing that we are doing: experiencing good food, good wine, good company and spreading the word!

My first Unilocal event! Great food, great people, very organized and lots of fun! I don’t think my wine glass was ever empty… And I got a Spanish fan to take home as a souvenir :)

Das war nun mein dritter Elite Event und es war wieder ein toller Abend.
Das lag an der Location, den tollen Elite Unilocalern & an unserem CM… aber mal der Reihe nach.
Die Location:
Ich war zum ersten Mal im Tinto und es ist wirklich schön, man fühlt sich hier auf Anhieb wohl. Die Tapas und vor allem der Sangria waren einfach genial!
Die Elite:
Die Elite Members sind wie alle anderen Unilocaler die ich bis jetzt kennengelernt habe, wirklich coole Leute. Es war schön ein paar davon nun auch persönlich zu treffen.
Unser CM:
Simon hat wieder einmal einen tollen Job gemacht, der Event war super organisiert.
Wieder mal eine geniale Idee!

Nice way to discover a new place in Zurich !!!
It was my first Elite Event (I was invited as a guest). I really liked it especially to meet other (Elite)-yelpers in Zurich. It is always nice to exchange experiences about zurich.
About the event: fantastically organised, good food, free drinks and nice atmosphere !!! A big success.
The tapas were delicious, the wine & cava was perfect. The staff of the restaurant was very funny and really friendly. The service that they delivered was fantastic.
The introduction of Simon of the event was really good. After his introduction the restaurant owner gave a little explanation of the restaurant. I hope they give also this explanation to clients :) because it really helps to appreciate more the restaurant.
I wanna thank Simon for the excellent work he delivered for organising this event and especially thanking him to invite me as a guest !!! It was a big pleasure.

So here it goes, my Elite event review:
neverending tapas and drinks, what’s a girl to do? :-)
It’s an easy 5 stars, and not just ‘cuz it was free–
a super convenient location walkable from HB Zuri.
The food was super tasty from the tortilla to sardines,
and the atmosphere was groovin’- a hip, local scene.
The staff were über friendly, making jokes left and right–
one at the bar was sassy, but I won’t let it ruin my night!
The room downstairs for groups was a neat place for us to chat,
decorated with wine, cork, and a couch– imagine that!
The elite squad was in full force, speaking German and English too–
with new faces as well, I made a friend or two!
I’m totally coming back for a lunch or happy hour.
Props to Simon, again, the CM with party power!

Yet another awesome Elite event, thanks to Simon for organising. Without this event, I would have never known, noticed, or found this place. You can walk right by on the street without realising you have just passed up an opportunity to experience a slice of Spain right in Zurich, as there is really just one tiny sign located alongside the door as you enter.
The night was a non stop affair of cold and hot Tapas, Sangria, Spanish wine, Cava, and lively conversation. The Cava and Sangria were superb. If you like garlic and some spice the food will delight your mouth. I especially loved the calamari, frites, and gazpacho soup.
The owner was passionate about Tapas and his business, and shared some interesting facts with us. The staff was super friendly, even though one may have woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning.
The handfans and carnations added that extra special Spanish touch. Great job Simon even down to the minute details.
I have already mentioned Tinto’s to some friends as a must try place for when they are next in Zurich.

Da ich seit kurzem Elite-​Yelperin bin (bitzli stolz!), wurde ich an den Elite Event «Viva España» von vergangenem Freitag im Restaurant Tinto eingeladen. And let me tell you: es war mucho olé y mucho cool! :-)
Mir hat der Abend im Tinto wiriklich sehr gefallen. Gerne werde ich das Tinto bei einem privaten Besuch noch detaillierter bewerten. Aber schon einmal vorne weg: die Tapas und der Wein waren KÖSTLICH!
Heute gilt es den Elite Event an sich zu bewerten. Und hier bin ich eigentlich voll des Lobes. Es waren coole Leute anwesend, und ich fühlte mich als neues Mitglied in der Community sofort wohl. Ich hatte sehr interessante Gespräche mit anderen Mitgliedern, und lernte so das eine oder andere Gesicht, welches ich online bereits schon des Öfteren entdeckt hatte, persönlich kennen. Das war wirklich sehr schön.
Rund um das Thema «Viva España» gab es passende give aways wie Nelken und Fächer. Das fand ich eine sehr coole Aktion. Auch die anderen « Unilocal-​Souvenirs» waren für mich neu, und ich packte mir frech einen Lippenbalsam, Gummiball, Kugelschreiber sowie einen Unilocal-​bag ein. :-) Und dann gab es noch rote Unilocal-​Socken für die neuen Mitglieder. Die sehen echt cool aus, und halten die Füsschen warm bei diesem wunderbaren Sommerwetter in der Schweiz… ähem… :-)
Unser Community Manager Señor Simón :-) hat seinen Job auch ganz toll gemacht. Es gab immer mal wieder einen kurzen Speech mit nützlichen Informationen sowie lustigen Geschichten. Zusätzlich schaltete sich auch noch der Manager des Tinto’s ein, und informierte uns mit nützlichen Details zur Entstehung des Lokals, dem Weinkeller, etc. Das war toll!
Was ich echt nicht so toll fand, und dafür muss ich leider einen Stern abziehen, war, dass wir ein paar mal vom oberen Stock in den unteren sowie wieder rauf wechseln mussten. Das gab eine etwas unruhige Stimmung, und die Leute vergassen dann wieder ihre Tasche mitzunehmen, oder haben sonst irgendwas in einem Raum liegen lassen, und mussten dann wieder zurück. Diese Unruhe hätte meiner Meinung nach nicht sein müssen. Vielleicht könnte das bei einem anderen Anlass besser gelöst werden. Auch war es zeitweise echt brutal laut. Ich verstand mich kaum noch selbst. Aber wahrscheinlich kann man da nicht viel machen, zumal an einem Freitagabend in Zürich viele Lokale sehr ausgebucht sind, und sich bei einer hohen Besucherzahl auch eine dementsprechend hohe Lautstärke ergibt.
Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Es war sehr toll, und ich freue mich bereits auf den nächsten Elite-​Event!

Tinto is an attractive and boisterous space that serves up very tasty tapas and lovely, red wine, and, from what I witnessed, kick-​ass sangria. Felipe, the man in charge, was both personable and inviting and I thank him for having us at his venue. I left the event feeling like I both wanted to support Tinto and visit Spain at my earliest possible convenience.

Another awesome Unilocal Elite event! This is the only the second one I’ve managed to attend thus far, and I enjoyed the meet-​and-​greet style of this event.
It was really nice to reconnect with Unilocalers that I’ve met on previous events and also to meet new members for the first time. I love how international the Unilocal Zürich community is… Swiss, American, German, Italian, Belgian… and we are all connected by our love of checking into places and then Unilocaling about them. ;-)
Tinto is a beautiful restaurant that is really decorated in the classic Spanish style. Friendly service with great hosts, delicious food and drinks! I really enjoyed eating the hot and cold tapas; everything was fresh and very yummy. Spanish tortilla, patatas bravas, gazpacho, jamón, pimientos de Padrón… I felt like I was back in Spain again. I tried their cava, which was sweet and refreshing and probably one of the best cavas I’ve ever had.
Simon is an awesome CM who really put forth a lot of effort to make this a special event for us. In addition to the lovely food and drinks, we each got an authentic Spanish hand fan and red carnation to take home. As an Elite member, I also scored a pair of Unilocal Elite socks… which will come in handy during this cold, Zürich spring/​summer. :P
I had a great time at this event and have already told all my friends about how nice it was with Unilocal at Restaurant Tinto. Thanks again to Simon for organizing, and I’m already looking forward to the next event!

Wieder einmal ein klasse Abend. Das liegt diesmal an 3 Sachen:
— Dem Lokal:
Das Tinto hat mich von Anfang in den Bann gezogen, man fühlt sich wohl. Auch wen’s draussen in strömen regnete, im Tinto ist man plötzlich an der Sonne in Spanien. Der Gastgeber war äusserst freundlich, die Tapas absolut genial und die grosse Auswahl an Getränken ebenfalls. Sehr grosszügig vom Tinto, was es hier aufgefahren hat. Ich komme auf alle Fälle wieder zurück.
— Der Unilocal Elite:
Die Leute sind einfach cool! Ich freue mich jedes Mal diejenigen zu sehen, die ich bereits kennen gelernt habe. Aber auch auf die neuen Elite Mitglieder die wir willkommen heissen dürfen.
— Der CM:
Dieses Mal war es ein Event ohne Action — das darf auch mal sein! Und unser CM Simon hat das super kompensiert. Mit Give-​Aways die richtig toll ankamen, der Dekoration mit den roten Nelken und der Blume zum Abschied für jede Frau. Weiter so :)

Viva España — Viva Unilocal-​Elite —
im Tinto
Was für ein schöner Einstieg in die Unilocal Elite Community…
Zugegeben, etwas angespannt war ich schon, Heute vor meiner Anreise. Bis ich mich, unmittelbar vor dem Event, mit weiteren «Elite» am Stauffacher treffen konnte — wo dann schon flux alle Unruhe verflog.
Zu Dritt haben wir dann also «pünktlich» im Tinto eingecheckt und wurden da schon erwartet und herzlich begrüsst.
Ich «fürchtete» nahezu der einzige Elite-​Roockie zu sein… und dass meine bescheidenen Fremdsprachen-​Kenntnisse ein Hemmnis sein würden… nix da.
Eine junge «Elite» traff ich an — nicht weniger als 4 Neulinge.
Dass die CH-​Yelp-​Elite erst seit einem halben Jahr so aktiv — und heuer zum vierten mal erst an einem Event zusammenkam war mir absolut nicht bewusst.
Des Lobes übervoll!!!
Muss gesagt sein;
Mit ein Grund dafür ist, dass unser CM einen exzellenten Job leistet.
Sein Feuer für Unilocal wird in seiner Präsenz, seinen Ideen und seinem Engagement spürbar. Routiniert und professionell gibt er den Gastgeber und kümmert sich vom herzlichen Empfang bis zum Tschüss und Dank auf Unilocal rührend um jeden Einzelnen Teilnehmer.
Er hat als Translater auch die sprachlichen Barrieren zwischen mir und den USA eingerissen —

Er hat mit diesem
entspannten und gemütlichen Stelldichein bei Tappas, Sangria und Estrella Inedit im Tinto den perfekten Rahmen geschaffen für mein erstes «meet&greet». Sich in sensationeller Athmosphäre mit schon zum Teil vertrauten fleissigen Schreiberlingen, Fotokünstlern, «Likern» und der Erfahrensten (GoldAppTrägerin) eye2eye unterhalten zu können war einfach sau schön.
Und da freut es mich um so mehr — sogar ein kleines Stück von dieser jungen Entstehungsgeschichte sein zu dürfen.
Nun ist’s ein Review über unseren CM geworden…
