Confiserie Sprüngli

THIS CHOCOLATE IS TO DIE FOR. The truffles just melt in your mouth, the flavors are neither overpowering nor overly sweet, these chocolates are just AMAZING. The macarons were yummy also, but those truffles. Thank God I don’t live here, I would have diabeetus, like, NOW. So good… If you are a true chocoholic, this place is a MUST.

Tourist trap. OK food, nice cocktails, horrendous/​non-​existent service, very noisy. Macarons are tasty, good selection of chocolates too.

We managed a stop here while in Zurich and walked out with a box of their macarons – which are much smaller than the typical offering. The champagne flavor was a stand-​out crowd favorite.
Worth noting that the chocolate here is certainly beautiful and tasty, but like so many things in Zurich, side-​eye inducing expensive.

Why couldn’t I have found this place earlier? If I had found it the day I got into Switzerland, I’m sure I would have eaten my way in Luxembergeli (it’s basically a macaron). It’s right by the airport. (And by that I literally mean inside the airport). So, it’s super convenient for souvenirs while you’re traveling.
They sell them by the weight and oh my goodness! Each one is a bite of heaven. We ended up buying almost twelve or so and worried that we might have bought way too many. But, we quickly learned there’s no such thing as too many. They are simply divine. Just a little bit of crunch and gooey deliciousness. My favorite one was the Rose with Strawberries. (at least I think it was strawberries… chances are it could also be raspberries!) But, honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. Another unusual one I enjoyed was the Strawberry Rhubarb. The only thing I would warn you about is watiting to long to eat them. They’re sooo good the first day or two, but get stale if you wait a week. So eat up!
While you’re here, don’t forget to pick up some truffles too! Those are just as good as the luxembergeli, but luckily last much longer. I didn’t try any of the unusual flavors, but all their chocolate was the bomb. The white chocolate truffles were absolutely my favorite of all. I wish I could say I’ll be back soon, but I guess I might not be able to come back. But, anytime I’m near I’ll definitely try to come back soon. For now, I might just have to settle with international delivery for special occasions.

You can order online or via the app. My favorites are the orange and champagne flavors– out of this world. Chocolates, truffles, pralines, anything hazelnut are truly indescribably fine. I just received my first shipment and Luxembergerli and chocolates are in excellent shape and packaged ready to serve for a holiday party.
Compare any macaron to the Luxembergerli and you’ll be a fan no doubt. It’s not cheap but the finest things in this world are not. It’s a specially good treat for the right occasion.

The absolute best chocolate truffles and Luxemburgerli I have ever tasted

Very popular confiserie with its world-​famous Luxemburgerli macarons. Pricey but definitely a must-​visit destination on Paradeplatz if you’re in Zurich.
Would have loved to take some macarons back to the states but they only have a shelf life of three days (and need to be refrigerated). Boo.
But the lady at the counter gave me a vanilla bourbon Luxembergerli to try. Don’t want to exaggerate … but it was best macaron I’ve ever tasted.

Go on a Saturday and be inundated with folk all vying for a prime spot at the bonbon counter!
We opted for the less-​visited, chocolate counter directly adjacent to all the fuss. I purchased pistachio, mocha, and hazelnut chocolates. They were all exquisitely made and attractively presented. All were a nice mix of a solid exterior and a soft interior, if that makes any sense, and their flavour lingers in the mouth in only the best way possible.
Spruengli isn’t exported, so do make a stop at the shop if you’re in town!
ps: less importantly, they sell brioche and challah-​looking bread stuffs in addition to other bits of bulk product that, honestly, I erased from my mind as soon as I found the chocolate counter. :)

I totally second what William said about the Luxermbergerli! Awesome and no macaron will ever compare.

Wenn man an die Schweiz denkt, denken die Leute automatisch an Schokolade und dabei automatisch an Lindt & Sprüngli. Da ist es doch selbstverständlich, dass Lindt & Sprüngli nicht nur ihre Waren über eine Theke verkaufen, sondern wollen es ihren Kunden auch ermöglichen sie direkt bei ihnen zu geniessen. Ich kenne kein anderes Café, das so teuer und edel ist wie das Sprüngli.
Mein absoluter Favorit ist der heisse Schokolade mit Schlagsahne drauf. Man schmeckt, dass es kein Pulver ist, sondern Sprünglis edelster Schokolade selbst ist, die diese Köstlichkeit herzaubert. Leider finde ich das Lokal im oberen Stockwerk sehr langweilig eingerichtet und habe selten auf eine freundliche Bedienung treffen können. Im unteren Stockwerk sieht es aber viel gemütlicher aus und die edle Einrichtung ist gleichzeitig edel wie auch gemütlich. Selbstverständlich sind diese Plätze auch meistens besetzt.
Die Getränke, Kuchen usw. sind wirklich köstlich, aber die Bedienung und Einrichtung dagegen nicht so… Trotzdem ist Sprüngli ein Klassiker unter den Konditoreien in Zürich und ist definitiv ein Besuch wert.

Der Sprüngli ist die wohl bekannteste und edelste Confiserie auf dem Platz Zürich. Exquisite Köstlichkeiten verzaubern den Gast von Nah und Fern, dies seit der Gründung dieses geschichtsträchtigen Unternehmens im Jahre 1836.
Weit über die Kantonsgrenze hinaus, ja sogar weit über die Landesgrenze hinausbekannt, sind die Luxemburgerli, welche nach strengstem Familien-​Geheimrezept seit 1950 zubereitet werden. Zart luftige Makrönchen in verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen mit einer crèmigen Füllung, welche auf der Zunge zergeht… Himmlisch, wirklich himmlisch!
Auch exquisit sind die Truffes von Sprüngli sowie verschiedene Pralinés, Torten und Konfekte. Alles exklusiv und edel. Eine süsse Sünde!
Das Sprüngli Geschäft an der Löwenstrasse mag ich besonders gut. Es liegt mitten auf dem Löwenplatz und verbindet das typische Sprüngli Geschäft mit einem Sprüngli Café. Ab 7.00 Uhr früh ist das Sprüngli Café geöffnet und ist Morgen-​Oase für alle Frühaufsteher, Ruhe-​Liebhaber und Kaffee-​Geniesser. Das Café hat eine hübsche Kaffeebar und nette kleine Tischchen mit Hockern. Klein und fein ist das Café, und man kann hier fast alles haben, was man auch im Sprüngli-​Geschäft einkaufen kann. Der Kaffee ist übrigens sehr gut! Im Sommer kann man draussen sitzen, und das wilde Treiben am Löwenplatz genüsslich beobachten. Herrlich sind vor allem viele schattige Plätzchen, wo ich meistens genüsslich ein Sprüngli-​Birchermüesli esse.
Im Sprüngli Geschäft mag ich eigentlich fast alles. Auch die Brotwaren sind exzellent. Feinste Gipfeli und frische Zöpfli locken am Morgen die hungrigen Menschen ins stets gut besuchte Sprüngli-​Geschäft am Löwenplatz. Und über Mittag muss man schon mal anstehen, denn dann gibt es leckere Sandwiches, Chäschüechli, Salate und eben natürlich Birchermüesli. Alles immer frisch und mit feinsten Zutaten. Sehr, sehr lecker!
Die Preise allerdings… na hoppla… die sind massiv! Massiv (zu) teuer! Aber das tut dem Ganzen irgendwie keinen Abbruch. Der Sprüngli kann sich nicht beklagen. Die Menschen gehen hin und kaufen, und dies nicht zu knapp. Gute Qualität und top Bedienung haben hier Vorrang und machen den Preis zweitrangig.
Ein wahrer Genuss dieser Sprüngli — immer und immer wieder!
Mein Tipp: unbedingt das Birchermüesli und die feinen Glacé’s probieren! Ein Traum!
