Directly adjacent to a petrol station, Ok-Bar is exactly as the name implies. It’s a no frills, no b.s.(no paper towels in the bathroom – maybe one could pop over to the petrol station for a hand wash?) kinda joint filled with regular custies where one sees the unvarnished side of Lugano life. Actually, a friend recommended this place and referred to it as ‘classy,’ but I think he meant ‘klassy.’ Sometimes one can’t always read sarcasm in emails. This was one of those times. There was something resembling a car boot sale spread out over a few tables on the patio the Friday night we were there. Had I wished to purchase a laser pointer or a deck of cards, then I would have been all set. The two other reviewers mentioned there being grub at this place, but I neither saw nor smelled food, so I’m not sure if that is still the case. Fill your tank, then grab a beer?

Love this place! Looking forward to going back here in about a week. It’s a ~12K km trip for me to visit this place so I don’t get much of a chance to go…

This is such a great find! Don’t let the gas station exterior fool you– the chef here is top notch. He will make just about anything. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and you can usually enjoy a nice meal without having to tolerate too many of the annoying American college student crowd from across the street or up the hill.
