I like that there’s a healthy restaurant /​take-​away right at the main station in Bern. Means it’s
Always busy. They offer many delicious vegetarian options on the buffet– mix and match whatever you feel like, just don’t forget that Irma not that cheap (price per pound). The ingredients are organic. I like their freshly made juices and the coffee is ok too. To me it’s a fair value for money. I was a bit disappointed by their breakfast buffet though. It’s pretty small (I think it’s the same in every location I’ve been). My husband felt like some kind of croissant today, but unfortunately they didn’t have any options. Only the small bread pieces on the buffet. Hm. So why is there fresh bread and Swiss «Zopf» on the breakfast flyer?
When I have more time I definitely prefer their other location, which is just a 5′ walk away from the main station. It’s bigger, the buffet is pretty much the same. All in all, a place where I could always find something to eat /​drink. And it’s convenient and the staff is friendly.

I’m sorry, but I left this place feeling absolutely livid. The food was not as fresh as it should have been (the rice and aubergine were hardened) and not really good enough at all to justify the price. I get that it’s good ingredients and all that but man… I also did not like the fact that I was unsure how much I would be paying until I weighed it at the register, and by that point I was trapped into paying… Just felt really ripped off to be honest. Not worth the cost in my opinion

Auch wenn jeder Mensch sich auf den Feierabend freut– Freundlichkeit sollte bis ganz zum Schluss zu oberst auf der Prioritätenliste stehen. Auch wenn die Kassen schon geschlossen sind.
Ich habe auch ma im Tibits Bern gearbeitet und weiss daher «der Gast ist nicht König sondern Kaiser” — oder hat sich das geändert?

C’est grâce à mon année zurichoise que j’ai découvert cette petite chaîné Suisse dont le restaurant mère Hiltl se trouve à Zurich et est un must absolu (premier restaurant végétarien en Europe!). Ils ont eu la bonne idée d’ouvrir des filiales dans d’autres villes, pas encore en Suisse-​romande malheureusement. Mais ce Tibits excellemment bien situé dans la gare de Berne offre le traditionnel buffet végétarien très varié et exotique qui me plait tant chez eux et diverses boissons qui sortent de l’ordinaire. Je vous conseillerais toutefois de pousser deux rues plus loin dans la filiale du même nom, mais qui possède un plus grande espace, avec un buffet plus fourni et une atmosphère encore plus cosy ;)

Gluten-​Free/​Coeliac/​allergen haven! Even if you are not vegetarian, the food is great and everything is labeled fairly well (not perfectly). Street-​level, near one of the south-​facing entrances; vegetarian but very allergen-​aware place. Step in, grab a plate or one of the 3 shapes/​sizes of take-​away containers, fill from the buffet (german only but with allergen symboles: G means it has gluten ingredients — easy to confirm by looking at the pasta!), go to the counter for a weight, and then eat or take-​away. Definitely a place to go for a break from traditional Swiss or all the Italian around. 24CHF for dinner-​sized take away & no drink. Not just for train travel, many colleagues visited it during lunch breaks of our workshops.

Placé de façon très pratique dans l’entrée de la gare de Berne, Tibits est un concept végétarien et végétalien, à l’origine zurichoise, qui propose de la fast-​food végétale pour public pressé.
Ici, le prix de l’assiette varie selon le poids des plats chauds et froids, ou des desserts, choisis sur le grand buffet circulaire. On peut aussi commander au comptoir des boissons de type latte, chai et tutti quanti, pour arroser le tout, mais aussi des sandwichs et des soupes pour ceux qui né veulent pas composer eux-​mêmes leur plat.
Le buffet fait dans le végétarien, la world food et l’original, avec par exemple une salade d’algues, des udons, des japalenos, du caviar de betterave, ou encore un tartare végétarien, pour né citer que quelques uns des nombreux plats proposés. Le choix n’est pas en reste côté desserts plus ou moins sains: mousse soja aux figues, toffee cake, pecan pie…
On se croirait un peu chez Wholefood à New York avec ses immenses buffets de plats végétariens, et ses tables hautes où l’on mange seul en regardant les passants dans la rue, tout en surfant sur un engin qui a le wifi…
Après une assiette généreuse, autour de 25 CHF, j’emporte une barquette de desserts à 8 CHF pour le train… prix un peu élevés pour un self-​service mais le goût est au rendez-​vous… seuls points faibles pour ma part: être tombée sur une caissière pas très sympa, mais bon, qui s’excuse ensuite (fatiguée apparemment) et le côté bondé et bruyant du lieu, qui malgré sa pénombre et son mobilier contemporain, né donne pas envie de rester des heures. Sinon chouette concept… après plusieurs grandes villes suisses et Londres, je leur souhaite de continuer leur expansion veggie… en prenant une option bio pour parfaire le tableau.

Das Essen vom Tibits-​Buffet schmeckt mir insgesamt gut, auch wenn auf Dauer etwas die Abwechslung fehlt.
Schade ist, dass sie unnötiger– und unerwarteterweise desöfteren mal Speisen mit Koriander verseuchen, einem Kraut, dass nun wirklich nicht jedermanns Sache ist und bei vielen (inkl. mir) schon fast Brechreiz auslöst.
Ein kleines Highlight ist auch das Dessert-​Buffet: Das ist fast immer exzellent und dazu sogar noch günstiger als des restliche Essen.
à propos günstig: Man kann die Speisen auch vergünstigt als ‘Take Away’ mitnehmen, dann wirds durchaus bezahlbar.
(Sprich: Bei meinen Portionsgrössen idR unter 15 .- inkl. Dessert exkl. Getränk)

Auch vor und auf dem hektischen Bahnhofplatz eine sitzgerne Oase. Ich mag die Auswahl am Buffet auch wenn ich immer in etwa dieselben Sachen esse. Getränkeangebot ausgezeichnet. Nur die Bedienung nicht immer so toll bzw. wechselnd.

Despite being in the train station, the food tastes fantastic. I was really surprised, after having known this place merely as a nice place to have a drink. The purely vegetarian food is self-​served at a buffet. Seating is inside and out. I haven’t figured out yet how to reserve a table while you’re at the buffet. I just left my sweater on a chair.
P. s. The dishes change slightly from day to day. And: outdoor tables are full of smokers. There’s no non-​smoking section outdoors :(

Superlecker, gutes Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis. Der neue Laden in der Gurtengasse ist dazu noch wirklich schön. Aufmerksame und nette Bedienung.

Ja, ich bin ein Fan und wenn ich Hunger hab, mich nicht auskenne und stehe plötzlich vor einem tibits, dann überlege ich nicht zweimal. Es war supervoll und das Buffet hatte schon viele Hungrige «beglückt», aber es wird ja möglichst speditiv aufgefüllt. NEU war mir das Mango-​Curry (WOW!) und bisher habe ich in der Schweiz keinen besseren Jasmin-​Tee genossen.
Die Kids-​Lounge ist in der Mittagszeit für Erwachsene offen und so sass ich dort am bzw. im Fenster in der Sonne und genoss mein Leben — so schön ;-)

The worst and most unfriendly service I’ve ever experienced in a Tibits restaurant! They have a very small toilet maybe approx. more than a meter! I opened the door and wanted to wash my hands before going out. First the opened door almost hit the side of the one standing in front of urinal! Second a Tibits cleaning staff was standing in front of lavatory and wasn’t letting me washing my hands because he has to clean!!! I asked him to go out for a while because there isn’t enough place for 3 persons! I even couldn’t go out from toilet, but he insisted to stay inside and started offering me some space so as I could move a little bit from toilet to lavatory! A very strange situation for the one in front of urinal and for me! I decided to accept his offer and washed quickly my hand while he was almost near to squeeze us! Shame on you!
In addition I have no idea what’s going on between female and male service staff! They look like students or maybe they should be! Anyway but each time I paid by a female service staff the male beside her started immediately smiling at her and attracting her attention! Seriously! What’s going on? Is this behaviour professional! Another time at lunch 2 service staff males came and sat at break near us and were just looking at us! we felt disturbed and my colleague told me she will speak later because she didn’t feel comfortable!
Its’ a vegetarian buffet restaurant and the food is tasty. The one from Zurich is much bigger and you won’t be hassled there! They have better service. The food is priced by weight: 100 g costs 4.20 or 3.70 (take away) Swiss francs. Tibits restaurant in Bern is small and it’s always crowded. The atmosphere is mostly stressed and it’s noisy. It’s the manager who to blame for the bad behaviour of the service staff! He hasn’t his people under control and he’s really doing a bad job!

Lebendiges aber nicht gerade günstiges Vegi-​Restaurant mit sehr guten Speisen die man am Buffet selber zusammenstellen kann. Die Speisen sind sehr lecker zubereitet und im Sommer kann man auch vor dem Lokal in der Gartenwirtschaft dem Treiben auf dem Bahnhofplatz zuschauen.

Das Essen fand ich wirklich gut, obwohl Buffets sonst eher grenzwertig sind — hier ist so viel los das ständig frisch nachgefüllt wird. Im Vergleich zu den sonst üblichen Angeboten an Bahnhöfen (uagh!) fand ich das Angebot im tibits super, sowohl was Auswahl als auch Geschmack angeht.
Preislich wohl selbst für Schweizer Verhältnisse etwas gehoben, dafür ist es halt auch Bio (was man in Bern sonst schon suchen muss) und schmeckt.
Was stört ist zum einen das Gedränge wenn’s voll ist, da kommt leider keine echte Gemütlichkeit auf. Einen separaten Teil mit Service wäre nett.
Zum anderen störte mich die Musikberieselung mit uralt-​Schnulzen, das passt so gar nicht zum Ambiente. Deswegen einen Punkt Abzug.
Fazit: erste Wahl wenn man in der Nähe des Bahnhofs ist, nicht ewig viel Zeit hat oder sich in kein richtiges Restaurant setzten will und trotzdem lecker essen.

Sehr gute Auswahl am Buffet. Appetitlich, frisch, originell. Zwickel an der Bar. Leider strikt vegetarisch. Teuer!

Very tasty self-​service restaurant inside Berne main train station. Perfect for a quick and healthy bite when travelling from or to Berne. For a self-​service restaurant the prices are rather high. But the fantastic buffet of vegetarian food and desserts is worth it.

leckeres und gesundes essen, leider aber sehr teuer und oft ist das lokal überfüllt, was sich dann manchmal auch etwas negativ auf die freundlichkeit der bedienung auswirkt.

Früher war’s besser hier! Da gabs noch Lassis, die wirklich nach Zimt und Mango schmeckten. Nach wie vor leckere Speisen und ein guter Bahnhofs-​Treffpunkt.
Wiegt man das Essen ab, wirds sehr schnell sehr teuer.

Eigentlich mag ich eher eigenständige Restaurants und nicht verpflanzte Konzepte. Hier mache ich eine Ausnahme. Der Schnellimmbis bringt hohe Qualität zum ebenfalls hohen Preis. Auswahl ist sehr gross und auch sehr abwechslungsreich. Am Mittag etwas gar voll.

Das Tibits-​Konzept geht auf: Vegetarisch, schnell, zentral beim Bahnhof gelegen. Interessanterweise ist vegetarisch nicht immer gleich gesund, viele Angebote sind frittiert ;-) Leider oftmals sehr überfüllt und auch nicht gerade billig.

Kleiner, feiner & gesunder Imbiss für die Mittagszeit, Zwischendurch oder am Abend.

Das Tibits in Bern ist ein Restaurant, das ich immer wieder gerne besuche, wenn ich mit jemandem beim Bahnhof abgemacht habe, oder unsere Wege sich dort trennen oder man nicht viel Zeit hat. Es sieht chic aus und das vegetarische Buffet schmeckt sehr gut! Auch die Brownies sind zu empfehlen. Obwohl diese bei gleichbleibendem Preis immer kleiner werden. Eigentlich eine Abzocke, aber lecker sind sie halt schon.

Seul point faible, ils n’acceptent pas encore les cartes visa ou mastercard, seulement les cartes locales.
Mieux vaut donc se munir de francs suisses pour profiter de ce restaurant végétarien à l’entrée de la gare CFF de Berne, sur la droite au rez-​de-​chaussée.
Un buffet alimenté en permanence permet de se préparer son propre plat avant de se rendre à la pesée au comptoir. Un concept qui joue sur la confiance dans un environnement où le passage est incessant, mais qui réussit au Tibits d’autant plus que les serveurs les plus costauds sont en permanence près des portes au cas où
On peut profiter de son plat à l’une des tables très seventies ou dans le train, puisqu’il est possible de se servir dans des barquettes à emporter.
Une fois en caisse, n’oubliez pas de profiter de l’un des cocktails de fruits frais à base d’orange, comme le ‘vitaminé’ avec son mélange cassis, ou le ‘royal’ avec plus de huit fruits et légumes, de quoi écouter sagement les recommandations nutritives que la télé française nous rebache depuis quelques temps ;-)
