A fairly standard Molino Italian restaurant chain.
We were 3 looking for a place to grab a quick dinner in Basel before catching the train back to Zurich. Typical of Switzerland, most restaurants were closed on Sunday. We came across Molino in the busy city center pedestrian area and walked in. The restaurant was pretty busy but we got seated promptly without a reservation. We indicated that we didn’t have much time so we ordered and got our food quickly, which was much appreciated. The pizza Miss Italia was tasty but a bit too salty for me. The ingredients were fresh my husband enjoyed it a lot. I ordered one of the specials of the day, which was tagliolini with clams and porcini mushroom. It was delicious and just hit the spot but nothing extraordinary.
Overall, it’s exactly what you would expect to find at a Italian restaurant chain. The servers are friendly and efficient. A good fallback place to eat on a Sunday evening without reservations.
