really interesting to see all the old machinery still operating and creating paper today.

Lovely museum, that is actually still an operational paper mill today. We were told artists still purchase their paper for its unique quality. The museum offers lots of hands on activities. We made paper, from scratch! We also did marbling and printing. It was a very interesting and unique experience. There’s a café out front so you can relax with a beer or a cup of coffee. Allocate a few hours to spend there if you want to do the hands on stuff. The museum is situated in a cute neighborhood, which would’ve been great to walk around and explore. Wish we had more time but we had to catch a plane back home.

Pretty nice and suggestive museum. It is perfect for families and big groups with children and teenagers. Many are the possible activities: from paper making to water marbling, the Basler Papiermühle is well known by tourists coming from all over the world. Staff members are sweet with children, patient and willing to answer new questions. I really recommend it for a nice day with the family.

Eines der Museen, welche auch mit kleineren Kindern, sehr sehr sehenswert sind. Die gesamte Geschichte der Papierherstellung in Basel wird hier sehr schön dar gestellt.
