If you only have one day in Uppsala, make sure you stop by Ofvandahl’s at least twice during your time! Once in the morning for all you can drink coffee self-served from a beautiful old coffee pot, paired with a traditional Swedish kanelbulle. Around 4 o’clock, pop back in for an afternoon fika. All of the gorgeous pastries are good, but I suggest the princess cake, a little slice of marsipan heaven, or the damsuggare, which is unlike anything else you’ve tried. Their open faced sandwiches, or soup make a great lunch in a cozy atmosphere. Snuggle into one of the overstuffed mismatched couches with a book and your never ending coffee supply for a wonderful escape from Sweden’s cold.
