Typically I don’t write reviews for subway stations(or «tunnelbana» as it is called in Sweden), however, the station of Thorildsplan does deserve a place in my Unilocal-list of retro games related shops(and now places). You could also say it is not a typical subway station, but very few of the stations in Stockholm are typical since most of them feature a theme or special artwork. The theme of the Thorildsplan subway station is 8-bit games. On the wall mosaic you’ll see references to Super Mario Brothers on the 8-bit NES, as well as Pac-Man with ghost(not sure what port of Pac-Man the sprites are taken from). Worth a visit for the retro gaming geek that want to do it all, non-geeky friends may not appreciate it to the same extent. :) There is not much else on the station but it is close to Rålambshovsparken which is very nice to stroll around on the way into the city. To get there, take the subway(doh!), green line towards west(towards Åkeshov, Vällingby or Hässelby Strand among others).
