Totally fine experience if you want some older history run-through and check out a few artifacts from the era. The guided tour is great for kids. I went with the Swedish one. They don’t display excavated treasures, more than a few tidbits. What you will see is: * a large model city in which you can walk * wax models and scenarios * texts explaining how things were You will not see armours, guns or in-depth descriptions of clothing, culture or how life was. Summary: is nice for a short visit. Try to make the tour.

I was here during the culture night in Stockholm. I actually did pass the bridge hundred times but had no clue that underneath was a museum. Anyway, I really liked it! It was mostly about how life was on Gamla stan far far back in the days. Very educating! For instance I thought that the size of Gamla stan today has been the same since the beginning but apparently not. I think this is also a very fun place to go with children.
