Mosebacke Etablissement

With one of Stockholm’s best views and a fantastic late summer weather, it can not go wrong. A nice and friendly staff helps you feel comfortable and relaxed.
I chose a steak with tomato salad, the steak was tenacious, but the salad was excellent. My wife took a ox cheek grilled in a lettuce topped with Parmesan cheese and chorizo and it was actually very good. Veal roast beef which was very good. So in essence, it was good but it would not had got 4 stars if it had not been for the fantastic location.

Loved stopping here for a refreshing beer and a view after a day of exploring Stockholm — definitely worth stopping by!

Not impressed.
In the summer the view is gorgeous, and in the winter the interior is also super cozy. But for lunch? No. No.
There was a buffet for 125 kronor with sausage, fish patties, tomato soup, bread, cherry pie, salad, etc… and with every single dish I tried it and thought, «Meh.» It wasn’t bad, but it was far from good. My first thought was that I could make better food myself — and I’m no star chef.
Nice personnel and nice atmosphere, but don’t go there for lunch.
UPDATE: August 2015 update. I’ve been there several more times now and I think it’s ok. The lunch still gets just two stars from me — but the outdoor seating and the club venue boost it up a star. Enjoy the location, it’s fabulous, but go in the evening for drinks, not for lunch. That’s my tip. :)

2 of us went there for a death metal performance! We (being 2 gals) were asked/​had to clarify twice at the door that we were there fo a death metal gig! haha. Crowd was cool (i think ‘authentic’ comes to mind!), venue fantastic and band was AWESOME! Lead singer spewed blood n everything! hehe.

Tagsüber ein toller Biergarten mit traumhafter Aussicht.

Typical summer location: place outdoors with magnificent view on Stockholm and drinks with reasonable Stockholm price. It is nice to come there in the evening and chill with friends, having relaxed conversations and looking at the city from the top, enjoying the scenery. The time really flies by there, as the nights in summer come later.
The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed, people are very open and absolutely not snob.
There is also often some live music, either on the stage at Mose backe Etablissmanget itself, or at the square in front of Söder teatrn.
Mosebacke is a good idea in general.
It is a nice tip to go there with people, who are first visiting Stockholm.

lecker Wein, coole Aussicht

During the short Swedish summer when it’s possible to sit outside the terrace is totally awesome!
Lately there’s been some issues with neighbors living nearby that expect silence earlier than is reasonable for people living in the city. This has generated some weird and oft-​surprising closing times. Hopefully they’ll move to the country side soon and the long hours are restored.
The indoors venue is also good although it doesn’t at all compare to the majestic view offered to visitors of the terrace.

War nicht im Club sondern nur im Außenbereich von Mosebacke, an einem Freitag Abend im Mai.
Man hat einen tollen Blick über die Stadt, sitzt im Freien, holt sich Getränke an der Bar.
Biergartenfeeling, nur etwas edler ;)
Und die Preise sind natürlich stolz, keine Frage.
Ein kleines Bier (ich glaube es war 0,2) kostet umgerechnet ca. 5 Euro.
War ein schöner Abend, Mosebacke ist definitiv einen Besuch wert!

On a sunny weekend, Mosebacke is the place to go to have brunch or lunch or whatever. This venue is up on the hill and offers great views over Stockholm from the terrace. Moreover, they also run live jazz forthe brunch, so you can get a great view, great music and good food. It’s not cheap, butas it is a buffet and you could stay some time to enjoy the view and the food, I would say it is worth it. I was there a few times and always liked it. Recently it wasn’t too busy that you didn’t get aplace, but anyway busy enough.
When I decided to leave, I walked over to nearby Katharinahissen, where there is a platform that offers even more stunning views over Stockholm. For free. So even if you’re not up for a pricey jazzy brunch, you could still enjoy a great view when you walk up there.

Amazing views of the city! I grew up in sthlm and this must be one of the most beautiful views of the city.

Der wohl schönste Blick auf, in einem der wohl schönsten Viertel von Stockholm! Offensichtlich ein Insider-​Tip, da kaum Touristen vor Ort waren (mit Ausnahme von mir).

unrivaled view of the city, live music, fresh air and good beer. You can’t really beat it. And yes, if you are not there in time, you better wear sensible shoes or you will be crying by the end of the night. When ever I go home over the summer I try to get a visit in.

interessant sind im Mosebacke vor allem die Live Konzerte. Es treten durchweg, teilweise auch sehr Bekannte Künstler auf.
Die Eintrittspreise sind im Schnitt deutlich günstiger als in Deutschland.

When the weather is nice, few places beat Mosebacke as the place to grab a few beers in the sun and people watch
…unfortunately, the rest of Stockholm has discovered this, and will have the same bright idea of going here as you do and at the same time.
It gets crowded. And if you don’t get there early enough (like 10am on a nice day), expect to stand up.
The view is incredible. The people are beautiful. The beer is flowing. So there’s not much more you can ask for.
Also, this isn’t the place you go for food. Apparently it sucks. So that has not been factored into my star rating, because if I’m going to a beer garden, it’s not to eat (even though the jazz brunch is supposed to be cool).

Sehr angenehmer Club, vorallem für mich, der die gängigen Playlists in Deutschland zu hassen beginnt. Doch mal schön gewesen, ein bisschen Abseits der Hits einer Band, ein paar andere Lieder dieser zu hören. Dies kann nur an dem Abend so sein, aber das ganze Ambiente sieht eher nach Studenten-​Club aus, nicht nach Disco, so gehe ich davon aus, dass dort des öfteren gute Musik gespielt wird.
Auch auf Grund der Umgebung draussen lohnt es sich. Wenn man aus der unscheinbaren Tür hinaus gelangt oder bevor man hinein geht, kann man über die Innenstadt Stockholms schauen, da man sich am Rand eines Berges befindet.
Die Preise schocken natürlich, aber man ist in Schweden

Zwischen Weihnachten und Silvester habe ich einige Tage in Stockholm verbracht und dabei auch eine Nacht im Mosebacke etablisement. Wohl auch in Stockholm eher ein Tipp von Insidern. Von Außen ist es eigentlich eine recht unscheinbarer Eingang. Trotzdem kann man es eigentlich leicht finden, denn es stehen fast immer eine Schlange davor.
Der Laden ist recht klein und wenn er voll ist wird es ganz schön eng. Es gibt einen Barraum, eine große Tanzfläche und einen etwas kleineres Zimmer. Es gab auf der großen Tanzfläche ein Mischung aus House und RnB. Alles recht tanzbar. Das Publikum bestand hauptsächlich aus Studenten und jüngeren Leuten, aber auch junggebliebene Mitt30er waren zahlreich vertreten.
Alles in allem ein netter Laden um den Abend zu verbringen. Nur die Alkoholpreise in Schweden erschrecken etwas. Was aber die Schweden nicht davon abhält einen Cocktail nach dem anderen zu bestellen.

Ich war am Sonntag zum Jazzbrunch im Mosebacke. Der fängt ab 10.30h an– und da sollte man auch schon dasein! Wir waren um 11h da, und da war schon alles voll. Der Brunch ist ein all-​you-​can-​eat Büffet für 150 Kronen pro Nase. Die Qualität des Essens war nicht soooo der Wahnsinn, was aber durch die Location und natürlich die nette Jazzmusik aufgewogen wird. Im Buffet waren unter anderem kleine Pfannkuchen, Marmelade, normales Brot und Brötchen, Spare-​Ribs, Chicken-​Wings, Köttbullar, Falafel, Hummus, Pommes, gefüllte Weinblätter, Käse, Schinken, Tomaten-​Salat, Kartoffel-​Salat, Krautsalat, und noch ein paar Sachen. Getränke sind auch inclusive, also Tee, Kaffee, und so ein undefinierbarer Saft (oder vielleicht auch Holunderblütensirup mit Wasser)…

Ein «Eingeborener», also ein Stockholmer, hat uns am Samstag mit ins Mosebacke genommen. Der Club gehört in den Komplex des Södra Teater in Södermalm (bin immer noch nicht sicher, ob Södra Teatern nicht der richtige Name wäre). Stuck ziert die Wände; dass man sich in einem Theater befindet, ist gut zu erkennen.
Der Besitzer eines CD-​Ladens für World Musik legte auf, und so kam es, dass ich an diesem Abend meine beim Bauchtanz gelernten Shimmis reichlich einsetzen konnte :-) Die üblichen Dancefloorhits waren nicht dabei, aber das fand ich durchaus okay. Das mag an einem anderen Abend bei einem anderen DJ wieder anders aussehen.
Überall im Mosebacke sind Sitzbänke verteilt, allerdings nicht so viele, wie es sein könnten — daher der eine Stern Abzug.
Die Aussicht über Gamla Stan ist überwältigend. In dieser Richtung liegt auch eine Terrasse, die bei warmem Wetter sicher rammelvoll ist.
Ganz junges Publikum war nicht anwesend, dafür aber eine deutlich sehr alte Dame osteuropäischer Abstammung (man sah es an ihrem Kopfschmuck und dem Kleid), untenrum mit Pömps und Perlons, die den größten Teil des Abends traurig alleine in der Ecke saß, aber zwischendurch auch auf dem Dancefloor gesichtet wurde. Und das sei mal zu Stockholm i. A: gesagt: Dort ist sowas problemlos möglich. Die Leute sind total relaxed und modemäßig wird gewagt, was gefällt. Das zumindest mein Eindruck vom ersten Stockholm Wochenende meines Lebens. Es werden sicher weitere folgen.
