Jensen’s Böfhus

Average hamburger joint, nothing special but not too bad! Huge salad bar and good portions of food! Our waitress was super super friendly and her English was so good! The location was awesome because it was directly across from our hotel!

I didn’t have any high expectations due to the mediocre reviews here — which can sometimes be a good thing. The ambience was surprisingly inviting, and the prices in the menu were also surprisingly low. But it took long time to get water, and it was only possible to get the two cheapest wines by the glass. When we asked the waitress about the bottles costing 300 SEK, she said that they sell very little of all those wines so it wasn’t possible to get only a glass. I guess only really cheap, poor, or incompetent people when it comes to wine go here?
We ordered a bottle of Ripasso, which our waitress didn’t know anything about, and when she delivered the bottle it turned out that she had never opened a wine bottle before.
I asked for my flank steak to be cooked red, but it wasn’t very enjoyable. Unless you like to chew a lot. The potato gratin wasn’t much to write home about (and quite small), and I was disappointed of their «favorite sauce». I should have ordered the pepper sauce instead — that was quite delicious.
The restrooms/​washrooms/​bathrooms/​toilets (pick your favorite word!) were clean and fresh at least!
If I am in need of a steak, I’ll probably go somewhere else next time. But maybe I should try the burger instead…

The service is terrible here. Had to get the waiter myself. And then it took ages before the food was served. If you have a lot of time and patience it is actually ok to come here. I had ordered the grilled chicken with thick fries. The chicken piece was the smallest I’ve ever been served. But the dish was actually really good.

LOUSY service, my family and I ordered fairly quickly then waited over a hour for our food. Actually watched our food sit waiting to be served for 30 minutes before they tried to serve it to us. We sent it back and they offered no apologies so we walked out. Nobody seemed to care. To many other good options near by too spend your money for dinner then this joint.

Ok food. The service though was beyond terrible! We came in and asked for a table (in English) and the menus we got were in Swedish, we had to specifically ask for English menus. When we asked about the items they couldn’t answer a single question, like «what style of ribs is it? «or «what is favorit sauce? «…And when we wanted to pay, we had to ask the server 4 times!

I’ve eaten here about 5 times and I have never been happy about the meat, it’s always dry and tasteless. The fried potatoes and the whiskey sauce are pretty decent though.

Service was not good. Very slow. Steak was undercooked so much that I had to send it back. I had 4 different waiters help me through the meal. It was very confusing because I did not know whom to speak to when I had an issue. The one bright spot was the last waiter that took my dessert order. He was very nice and came immediately after my main course was done. However, it then took over 20 minutes for me to be served a cold chocolate cake. I will not come back here.

The McDonald’s of steak houses, with inexperienced teenaged waiters, semi-​tender meat and supposedly fried potatoes that are really deep fried.
Despite the open flames, this is not a place for a romantic dinner. With the all-​you-​can-​eat ice cream buffé and the all-​you-​can-​eat potato & sauce deals, it’s more like a family restaurant — and you should expect a corresponding noise level.
I ordered my meat red — and it came out red! Several other meat restaurants (including Svartengrens and the upscale AG) have messed that up. This is, of course, a minus for the other restaurants and not a plus for Jensen’s (since giving the customer what he/​she orders should be expected.)
Jensen’s is by no means horrible, but you should always remember that you get what you pay for.

i was rather obsessed with this when i was so hungry and wanted a quick cheap meal in stockholm. this place is the place to be. especially lunch hours. i wish we had jensens in america. that’d complete my life.

I am from the US in Sweden on business for the first time. Stopped here because it was literally next door to our hotel and I was hungry.
This place is called the «Beefhouse» — there shouldn’t be any high expectations when you walk in and see a polka-​dotted bull with udders. This place seems to have a good sense of humor about itself.
I had ribs and a beer. Neither were great or horrible. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Spur of the moment decision to visit and although busy we were able to sit outside as we had our 2 dogs with us. Seating outside is cramped and pretty noisy as it is on a main road in Stockholm.
Steaks were awesome and cooked to the desired degree that we requested. Service was good and on standard with European style. As labour is expensive I have found that service might be a bit slow but who cares as when you go out to eat then you should be relaxing.
Alcohol is available but we only had beers so not sure what else.
For sure I will be back.

Place is garbage. Service is terrible. Food is nothing special and the salad bar really needs to be kept up with, it was gross! Small portions. And the staff seems upset that they have to serve you.

Gute Restaurants sind meiner Meinung nach in Stockholm nicht oft anzutreffen. Deswegen haben wir auf bewährte Qualität gesetzt und waren in Jensens Böffhus ! Unsere Essen waren von ausgezeichneter Qualität und die Bedienung war sehr nett ! Das die Preise etwas über dem deutschen Standard liegen ist normal ! Falls wir mal wieder in Stockholm sind, werden wir dort wieder einkehren !

I don’t know how this place calls itself a steakhouse. We went here because our hotel was nearby, and we were starving after arriving there. The outside drew us in because it seemed like a decent chain restaurant like a BJ’s or something that would be pretty safe — wrong. This had to be one of the worst eating experiences I’ve ever had.
They were out of many things on the menu (who runs out of VEGETABLES?!), our waitress disappeared, we had to take our own place settings from other tables because nobody came to our table. Other unfortunate people at other tables were looking around upset as well. Then came the food… terrible. My chicken breast tasted like it had been frozen and thawed repeatedly and left under a heat lamp. Their mozzarella cheese sticks tasted freezer burnt. The «salad bar» was a joke, I was afraid to eat from it but there was nothing else. The thing that topped off everything was that you couldn’t order a steak done «medium rare», only well done, medium, and rare because the waitress had to order it through a handheld device that didn’t have a «medium rare» option to choose. She was so embarrassed the whole time, no wonder she disappeared. And our food took like 30 mins to come out. This place is scary, please please try to avoid! It’s also ridiculously expensive, I don’t know how this place stays in business.

after a few nice days in stockholm we found out that there is this steakhouse-​chain all over the city.
from the outside it looked ok and the inside was even more elegant and /​or recently renovated very tastefully (regarding the fact that its a restaurant-​chain).
so we decided to give it a shot, since the prices on the menu are also convenient compared to the common stockholm conditions. the very helpful service guided us to a table in the back since it was already well-​frequented at around eight oclock in the evening.
I chose the fitness-​steak (medium) for appr.12 euro, inlcuding grilled vegetables and salad buffet, my girlfriend chose the burger with french-​fries.
ca. 30 minutes later we got everything (in the meantime we learned that a small coke is 0,3l and a big coke is 0,75l. there are a few more varieties than we were used to order in germany, so my girlfriend had to deal with an oversized glass of coke, which is not that easy to lift).
my steak was not even cloes to medium, rather very wll done. since it tasted ok and I wasnt in the mood to complain or to give it back and order a new one and ate it anyway. the grilled carrots were covered with salt and even more pepper, too much, made me cough.
so put all my hopes in the salad buffet, which luckily tasted good. noodle salad, olives, mushrooms, radish etc.etc. was fresh and and put in the small bowl very fast.
honestly I didnt know if Im allowed to go just just once or all evening. I decided to go as long as possible until someone would stop me, because of my weak main meal.
the burger was ok with tastefully bread and you are allowed to choose everything from the salad buffet to put it on your burger. french fries were ok, nothing special.
so all in all it was ok, but three points are result of the very nice and helpful service and the cool interior. quality is not that great and not what I expected.

Nice and unexciting restaurant. Just like the regular steak house chains. Quality of food is average, not bad. The staff are generally friendly, although the waitress replied when we were about to split the invoice: It is not my job to add up the individual sums. What? It is not my job?! Well, it may have been an intercultural thing and a special Swedish /​Stockholm attitude. Anywhere else this phrase would have been inacceptable.

Jensen’s is your typical franchise/​chain restaurant. The concept is focusing on meat and being a family oriented restaurant.
The main issue is that the quality of the food is not very good. To be a restaurant focused on meat the quality of the meat used has to be better. The steak I had was just not of the best quality. One friend had the chicken and that should be avoided at all costs (felt like eating a sponge). The ribs were however decent so if you have to eat here go for those.
Kids seem to love the place so it may be a good option for families with kids but if you do not have kids the fact that the place is popular with families with kids does not really add to the experience.
Service is never unfriendly but it is not really helpful and friendly either and the staff are certainly not fast. We had long waits and they were not really stopping by the table to ask if we wanted more drinks either.
For people who wish to eat good meat there are however many better options in Stockholm. A few suggestions would be AG, Djuret, Grill, Svartengrens and Vassa Eggen.

Risikoloses Steakhaus, Essen und Preise ok. Wem es im Blockhouse gefällt, der mag es auch hier. Übersichtliche Karte (auch auf englisch), Service unauffällig wie in so vielen Steakhäusern. Wir waren mehrmals da, eigentlich hatten wir nie viel auszusetzen. Preise sind noch ok vor dem Hintergrund, dass es in Stockholm generell etwas teurer ist. Highlight für Eisliebhaber sicher die Softeismaschine, für deren Benutzung man einmal bezahlen muss und die man dann so oft benutzen kann wie man will. Nebendran ist ein Regal mit geraspelten Nüssen, Schokosauce etc., so dass man sich mehrere Varianten zusammenstellen kann.
Zum Abendessen zur Hauptzeit unbedingt reservieren, sonst kann man sich auch mal etwas länger im Wartebereich an der Kasse aufhalten.
