Heaven 23

I have never had any kind of nice experience here at all. Food is subpar, service is terrible, it’s not even that clean. Can someone please tell me why anyone should visit here unless your forced through a work event?

After a long week in the Gothenburg archipelago we headed for a hotel weekend in the city taking up residence at the beautiful Gothia Towers Hotel. With quite tired kids in our wake we settled for dinner at one of the restaurants at the hotel, in more detail Heaven 23 with an amazing view over Gothenburg city. Unfortunately, that’s about the only amazing thing about it. The dining area has a great and classic design with a modern and contemporary feel, but the food doesn’t deliver even in the slightest. Stayed away from wines this evening so can’t really say much about it. But their wine-​collection looked both interesting and well-​stocked. Ordered a rib-​eye filet that was served with some fried mushrooms, roasted potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and red wine sauce. My wife and eldest son had the same while our daughter had braised pork cheek. Ordered my rib-​eye rare but came out more medium-​well, while my son and wife ordered medium and received well-​done. Really bad. Also almost no seasoning on the meat, and as a whole the plate of food was underwhelming at best. My daughter’s pork cheek was nice in color and taste, but not worth the money. This, coupled with the fact that it’s extremely overpriced in relation to what you receive this is a place neither worth the time or the view. My recommendation? Stay away.

I went to Heaven 23 on the recommendation of a friend who insisted I try their famous shrimp sandwich. The sandwich itself was pretty good – shrimp well-​cooked and not too salty, good bread, crisp veggies, etc. – but the restaurant itself was the main attraction. Almost every table provides a fantastic view of Gothenburg from the Gothia Towers’ 23^rd floor, and the staff seemed more than happy to accommodate guests who lingered to enjoy the vista and take photos.
Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Gothenburg!

This place is fantastic. Great view of Gothenburg and the staff here were extremely friendly. I happened to stay in the hotel here and came up to the 23^rd floor and I was very happy that I made that call. The food and drink were not cheap but the atmosphere and the lookout of the city is absolutely worth of it. If you visit Gothenburg, I highly recommend this place!!!

I enjoy going here for a drink — just for the view! Or even just for the glass elevator taking me up to Heaven 23! Weeeh!
Everyone says their shrimp sandwich is the best in town– I wouldn’t know, I do not eat shrimps. But it looks huge! at SEK 170 something.
They have a huge selection of Austrian wine!
They have a limited bar menu and one for the restaurant. Don’t go here hungry if you like me don’t eat shrimps. Or if you’re on a budget.

Great view. That, combined with the atmosphere is why you should visit this place.

We had dinner here in christmas evening with a group of 10 People. Very good food and perfect service. Every wish was possible. A must in GOT.
