Time for a Swedish lesson! The name of this restaurant is a play on words.
«Gävligt Gott» is like the city where it is located («Gävle».) Gävle also sounds a lot like the Swedish equivalent of «f***.»
So «Gävligt Gott» sounds like the Swedish for «f***ing tasty.»
When I went back in September, I thought it was pretty «f***ing tasty».
I’m lucky enough that my SO and his family knows places to get vegetarian food in Gävle, and this was one of them! There was a vegetarian option with South African vegetables, which was tasty. It also came with really good bread.
Heads up, it was pretty heavy food. I wasn’t super hungry when I went, and I had to have my other party member finish the rest of my meal.
The place is mostly a little shop with organic and local foods. The restaurant is a few tables on the side.
