Agapanto

Ja wow, besser geht’s wirklich nicht. Es sei denn, man ist ein absolut unromantischer Mensch, der weder auf gutes Essen, guten Wein und vor allem auf individuelles, liebevolles Ambiente Wert legt. Für alle anderen, die unmittelbar am Strand von Porto Sóller den Sonnenuntergang in einem Meer von Blumen, Kerzen und Fackeln erleben wollen, nichts wie hin ins Agapanto.
Die Begrüßung durch die Wirtin (Anna Maria Sturm ist ihr Name) kann wirklich nur als sehr persönlich und herzlich beschrieben werden. Sie und ihr weibliches und männliches Personal passen top in das Ambiente, hübsch, höflich, freundlich und kompetent.
Eine Auswahl wohlklingender Aperitives macht die Entscheidung schwer, wir haben es uns leicht gemacht und uns für einen Rose-​Cava entschieden. Der perfekte Start in den Abend.
Die Speisekarte ist nicht allzu umfangreich. Zwei Menüs werden angeboten sowie eine übersichtliche Auswahl an Suppen, Vorspeisen, Tapas, Pastas, Fisch– und Fleischgerichten und Desserts. Wir entscheiden uns für das Menü. Gute Entscheidung, nein falsch, sehr gute Entscheidung!
Die hausgemachte Tapenade und ein leckerlockerer Quark kamen mit frisch gebackenem Brot als Gruß aus der Küche. Und dann das Menü, wirklich alles frisch und aromatisch auf den Punkt. Besser geht’s nicht.
Hier die Menüfolge, von dem wirklich jeder Gang etwas besonderes war:
* Zweierlei von der Ente mit Avocado und Mango

* Mallorquinischer Octopus mit Fenchel, Apfel und Mandeln
* Orientalische Gemüsesuppe mit Bulgursalat
* Seehecht gegrillt mit Bacalao Gnocchi und Gambajus
” Leche frita” mit Yoghurteis und Pflaumen
und das alles für nur 48,00 €.
Wir tranken einen weißen Marques de Riscal, Rueda dazu und wir konnten uns an diesem Abend keinen schöneren Ort auf der Welt vorstellen als hier im Agapanto.
Wenn Sie meinen ich übertreibe, dann probieren Sie es doch selbst. Auf jedem Fall waren meinen Frau und ich nach diesem Abend wieder so verliebt wie vor 49 Jahren als wir uns kennen gelernt hatten. Das muß ein anderen Restaurant erst mal schaffen.

The smoky-​eyed German lady who greeted and seated us is the living soul of this place. We were instantly charmed. Then we were struck by an atmosphere that was stunning by day, and that only grew more spectacular as the moon rose above the mountains and the tiki torches were lit.
All of the food was spectacular, you cannot go wrong. Expect constant, welcome interruptions of greetings from the kitchen (amuse bouche) to be as complex and delicious as the main dishes. Amazing local Mallorcan wines — a huge selection. Extremely attentive and accommodating service. Occasionally (select evenings) live music matched to the elegant atmosphere.
In contrast to the humble but extravagant service of all the many employees, the dessert sommelier (who also advises on the digestifs) was the shadow side of this overall experience. He recommended pairings based on the preceding meal. Chocolate-​lovers beware: the bland muffin my dining partner received after being promised a hot, liquid chocolate soufflet may kill a small piece of your chocolate-​loving soul. My sorbet in cava, on the other hand, was all I hoped it would be. The digestif pairing for the chocolate dessert was some orange, fruity, vanilla — flavoured bar cocktail served in a margarita glass.
We cannot emphasize that to do justice in this review to the main dishes, appetizers and the small army of «greetings» would require transcribing the menu. Unique flavour compositions using the freshest ingredients in satiating quantities.
The prices are extremely reasonable. About 140 Euro for 3 courses, bottle of wine, cocktail and the priceless music, service and more… for 2 people.
