El Cine

Suite aux avis favorables sur Unilocal,je me suis arrêtée dans ce petit restaurant espagnol pas très visible de la rue principale, mais à tester sans faute! À 2 j’ai choisi le poulpe frit avec la salade de tomates/​oignons, ainsi que le poisson du jour à la plancha (thon frais) accompagné de frites. Le plat de poulpe arrive avec 2 poulpes frits, ainsi que 2 morceaux frais de poisson, et les assiettes de tomates ou frites sont généreuses. Accompagnés d’une demi bouteille de vin blanc pour accompagner le tout, à tester sans faute, car le poulpe ainsi que le poisson sont cuits délicieusement, et le vin blanc proposé allait très bien avec le repas.
Pas de dessert proposé, mais pas besoin, car le tout est bien copieux, pour une addition totale de 32 €!
À tester le midi ou le soir, service rapide garanti!

Kleines Lokal in einer kleinen Gasse in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hafen/​Strand.
Wer den Laden nicht kennt, wird ihn vermutlich nicht so ohne weiteres finden. Aber allen spontan-​vorbeikommenden sei gesagt: zu Stoßzeiten bilden sich hier teilweise lange Schlangen bis zum Ausgang der Gasse. Alles schon erlebt. Und zu Recht!
Das Lokal an sich (ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob man auch drinnen sitzen kann) hat nur einige Tische direkt in der Gasse für ca. 20 – 30 Personen. Also nicht wirklich riesig. Die Tische und Stühle sind typisch «strandlokalmäßig» aus Metall, wetterfest, unbequem. Man könnte meinen, das spricht alles für ein schlechtes Lokal, aber weit gefehlt. Diese Einfachheit hat einfach Charme. Im Urlaub am Strand muss es nicht das 5-​Sterne-​Restaurant sein — mir reicht sowas — wenn die Qualität stimmt.
Es gibt hier für verhältnismäßig kleines Geld spartanische Gerichte, aber irgendwie haben die alle was… Sei es ein schnöder «Tomatensalat» — bestehend aus einigen Scheiben großer Fleischtomaten und Zwiebelringen, Garnelen zum selberpulen, oder Fisch oder oder oder.
Die Portionen sind allesamt angemessen und schmecken einfach richtig gut.
Absoluter Pflichtbesuch bei jedem Teneriffa-​Urlaub!!!

It’s my ultimate favourite restaurant in the whole world, and I travel a fair amount as I’m a flight attendant.
The food is as fresh and it could ever be.
Simple, easy, no fuss menu.
When you get to know the staff, they are lovely and funny. They work hard.
Carlos, the owner, is a great fella.

Si buscas un lugar original para comer pulpo frito, pues busca bien porque El Cine está super escondido, pero vale la pena!!! Ubicado en la zona portuaria del sur de Tenerife, nada sabe mejor después de un día de playa que unas cervezas fresquitas y el plato estrella de éste restaurant, el pulpo frito. Fresco, cocinado en su punto, y acompañado de deliciosas patatas fritas, ensalada, y si tienes mucha hambre, atrévete también con el pollo frito!!!

Excelente trato, carta sencilla pero buenísima y gran relación calidad-​precio. Lo malo, que a veces hay que esperar un buen rato hasta ser atendido.

If you are looking for somewhere in Los Cristianos to enjoy simple food prepared in a Canarian bar/​café could I suggest Bar El Cine.
Bar El Cine is located near the port in Los Cristianos. Just ask any of the PR’s trying to tempt you into their restaraunt and they will give you directions.
Don’t be fooled by the lack of table linen, menus or the plastic table and chairs, El Cine is renowned throughout Europe for its excellent food served in what some have described as frugal conditions. But it is the food we are here to sample.
You may have to join a small queue, I suggest you avoid Sunday as this is very popular with the Canarians, but Carlos the larger than life owner will soon have your table prepared.
The salad consists of tomatoes and onion — very simple with a dressing of olive oil and vinegrette. I always prefer the chicken wings, marinated and deep fried. Wonderful. Or if you are more adventureous why not try the octopus, sardines cooked on the grill or even gambas (prawns)? they may also have tuna or hake depending on the success or otherwise of the local fisherman from Los Cristianos.
Canarian potatoes are my favourite but Carlos does cater for the Brits who prefer chips.
Two mojo sauces, red consisting of garlic and chillie and green corriander and garlic and served with the meal. He does have a good house red and white which will not break the bank or you can enjoy a glass of Canarian beer.
El Cine is small and simple but its reputation is well known throughout south Tenerife.
As the Galloping Gourmet once said They deserve an Oscar for their food.

The chicken wings and fish! Cheap and very cheerful — but why do so many people go? Why is there often a queue for a table? Well because of the unique taste.
