The standard for«escaped from kids for a couple of hours» place is high, but the HippoPotamus has delivered with fast and attentive service as we randomly plopped in its outdoors dining just as all restaurants along the main drag of Plat’ja D’Aro started filling out fast. From the translation of «sweet cava» emerged a type of cava with fruit, not quite white sangria, a better dryer variation on the idea. Goat cheese salad tapas was fresh and delicious, but it was the chicken and ham croquettes that really impressed. It is a staple of every tapas place, but these were the best I tried — small, piping hot bites of deliciousness. Currle fish(a larger milder version of kalamari?) with a side of potatoes mild and fresh. Loved the service — fast when needed, but still allowing for a slow-paces European dinner.
