Great location (subway station «plaza de espana»), very easy from the airport. The hostal was very clean, calm, close to everything (supermarket, gym, opera, stores, and of course the royal palace …)
The staff is always smiling, they love they city and they like to share that passion.
A real real good surprise !
Breakfast was not included, but just beside the hostal, you can have it for 5⁄6 € !

Just stayed here this past weekend, and it is really nice for the cost! Thirty euro per night to stay right on the main street (Gran Via is like the Broadway of Madrid) and so many cool things are within walking distance. It’s at the top of the building so you can take a lift with your bags, or brave the eight flights of stairs. The wifi is free and good quality. The receptionists don’t speak english so be prepared to practice your spanish! Very close to the metro and lots of food options. My private room and bathroom were both clean, and well worth the price. I would stay here again!

Friendly people, GREAT location close to the metros and multiple bus stops and shops are literally outside of your balcony!!! The location in the heart of the city for the price is unreal. Definitely glad we booked here! Stayed for 5 days and rebooking for our return trip very soon!
