I had booked this tour for the end of our trip to ensure we really got to try all that Madrid had to offer in one night. Let me start off by saying, of the 3 other night time food tours that we did in various European cities, this was BYFAR the best, and James went out of his way to make sure we had an excellent experience. The tour was total ~12 people, and luckily the group was eager to try just about anything James suggested, which made it easy to really experience new options. The tour lasted about 4 hours and consisted of 4 stops(I’m bound to secrecy and can’t disclose which stops so they don’t become tourist infested), and then we happily all continued on separately to a 5th stop that James had pointed out to us as the perfect way to end the night. So yes, we all became friends on this tour, and despite half the group just arriving and being jet-lagged, had so much fun together that churros at 2am made perfect sense. Ok, enough about new friendships and back to the tour. Like I said, 4 stops, each different in their own right, giving us a chance to try food and drink from different regions of Spain. Spanish style Cider, Spanish Wines, Spanish Beers, ham, cheese, anchovies, Spanish style Blue cheese, Spanish style blood sausage, octopus, peppers, mushrooms, well, the list goes on and I’m sitting here drooling just thinking of it all! I must note, the tour is cheap! I believe ~35 euros a person, BUT it only includes food and drink at the first stop. The other stops are out of pocket, but James knows best, and pooled our money(I believe we put in 20 euro a head, and then another 7 euro a head as we really needed more wine lol) and did an amazing job ensuring costs stayed reasonable and we tried all the best options. Not only did I eat, and drink, and eat some more, but I learned more about the history, and learned more about how to enjoy Madrid(I really got into throwing my food waste on the floor lol). Amazing tour! Amazing experience. And if you don’t have locals to show you around Madrid, book with James!

Great tour… well outside our pain-in-the-you-know-what New Yorker that complained about everything. Our guide, Danny did a great job showing us around and shielding us from Mr. Whiner. He introduced us to a great side of Madrid. We hit up 3 places, it was supposed to be 4, but it was ridiculously busy that night. We got to try food that we would not normally order(potato chips and scrambled eggs… I make it at home now). He was accommodating to any dietary and drinking needs. Danny showed us some great historical point of Madrid and Spain. He answered my wife’s endless questions about Spanish culture. He pointed out places we should try after the tour. I recommend this tour to anyone.
