Port Vell

Der interne Jachthafen Barcelonas liegt sehr schön zentral und bietet ausgiebig Gelegenheit, die tollen Schiffe zu sehen und zu bewundern!
Und wir hatten ganz besonderes Glück:
Die noch von Steve Jobs designte Jacht «Venus» im Hafen von Barcelona.
Leider ist der Apple-​Guru vor Fertigstellung verstorben.
Erkennt ihr auf meinen Fotos das sinnbildliche iPad und iPad Mini auf dem Schiff? ;-)

Sunny days in port cities always calling me to waterfront walks.
Escaping the hustle and bustle of La Rambla, I am standing across the old Port de Barcelona Customs Building…
Sun is hot, but the breeze from the water makes it pleasant.
I walk the waves of wooden bridge at Rambla de Mar, catch a doze of sunshine by the water…
I am standing there thinking if I should get to shops, restaurants and cinema of Maremàgnum. Other time, perhaps…
So I continue along the waterfront to see all enormous abstract sculptures. Some rather weird, but amusing no less.
Great place to relax and catch a break.

Schöner Hafen mit großem Vorplatz. Als wir da waren hatte gerade ein Luxuskreuzfahrtschiff angelegt. Auf der Rambla del Mar kann man neben EInkaufen auch noch gut abends ein Wein trinken.
Essen würde ich immer abseits vom Hafen und der Rambla, da die Preise schon auf Touristen gemünzt sind.
Aber hier morgens einen Kaffee im Starbucks holen und dann erstmal am Hafen die Seele baumeln lassen mit Blick aufs Meer. Sitzmöglichkeiten gibt es zur Genüge.

Ein schöner Hafen, von dem aus man vieles erreichen kann. Aquarium, Strand und Barceloneta.
Es werden auch Hafenrundfahrten angeboten.

Der Yachthafen bildet praktisch den Abschluss eines Spaziergangs über die Rambla Richtung Meer und bietet selbst eine Menge an Leben: Restaurants, Straßenmusiker und natürlich viele Yachten. Wollen diese den Hafen verlassen so muss die Brücke zum Maremagnum weggeschwenkt werden.
Man passiert den Hafen auf dem Weg zum Aquarium oder zum Strand oder zum Museu d’Historia de Catalunya.

Loved wandering around here in the late afternoon — lots of craft stalls and boats, nice places to grab a snack or drink, and just generally pleasant and relaxed. It’s also massive so you can potter around here quite a lot and still not get bored. The sort of place where you can just find a bench or a railing to lean on and just gaze out to sea and listen to the rigging clanking in the marina. Very relaxing.

Wunderschöner Hafen einfach hin und genießen, wir sind immer wieder gerne hier!

Sehr schöner Yachthafen. Wir sind mit einem der offenen Reisebusse durch gefahren und haben uns so alles bequem vom Bus aus sehen können. Drumherum sind ein Aquarium, Restaurants und Geschäfte.

Traumhafter Yachthafen mit noch traumhafteren Yachten. Allerdings hat uns unser Stadtführer erzählt, dass viele der Yachten entweder gar keinen Motor haben oder die Besitzer nicht das Geld, sich Treibstoff für das Boot zu leisten. Nun ja.

Abgesehen davon hat der Fozzy in einem Restaurant ein traumhaftes Drei-​gänge-​Menü am abend geniessen dürfen, mit Ausblick auf die Yachten
Insgesamt vergibt der Fozzy hier die volle Punktzahl.

Ahora que viene el verano no hay nada como pasar el dia en el Port Vell de Barcelona. Es un lugar ubicado al final de la famosa Rambla que une la Plaza de Catalunya con el Port Vell. Es un lugar donde se une el comercio, la cultura y el ocio. Esta compuesto por diferentes edificios, monumentos y espacios que concluyen un total de mas de 55 hectareas que terminaron en el año 1995.
En el Port Vell podemos encontrar multitud de lugares donde puedes hacer cualquier tipo de actividad desde dar un paseo por el puerto hasta tomarte algo al lado del mar o ir al cine Imax (cine en 3D).
Hay diversas formas de llegar tanto en metro como autobus por lo que no resulta nada dificil acceder.

This is a lovely area to visit whilst in Barcelona. There is the harbour with lots of lovely boats to look at, a large complex of shops and restaurants, bars, the aquarium and the Imax. We visited the aquarium, lots of lovely fish and other marine wildlife to be seen. We also visited the Imax and watched a short film on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef (i like the fish!!) and it was like nothing i’ve ever seen before, you feel like your actually in the film and so well worth a visit. There are also lots of little market stalls where you can pick up some lovely gifts for yourself or someone else!

Awesome is all I can say about port vell. There is so much to do and things to see. Columbus’s statue is amazing and the cafes and bars offer exceptional food.
it is also close to the main drag in Barcelona and is easy accessible for all, the kids are catered for too as they have the most amazing aquarium and cinema all around

Worth a visit even if it’s just to window shop at the amazing boats and quirky craft stalls.
It is fair trek from Las Rambles — a walkable distance but don’t expect it to be a stones throw away.
With wide pavements its easy to see why its popular for rollerbladers so watch out for them!

A brisk walk from the end of Las Ramblas (or take the Metro to Barcelonata) and you’ll enter the area of Port Vell.
Hard to believe this area was once derelict and dirty, but come the 1992 Olympics this place was tidied up, refurbished and brought back to life. The old industrial warehouses, rail roads, tips et al were miraculously regenerated into an entertainment area and harbour for expensive yachts. Effectively all this work connected the city back to the city (historically the city had turned it’s back on the sea). The entertainment complex in the area comprised an Imax cinema and a huge (possibly Europe’s largest) Aquarium amongst bars and cafés. There are also nightclubs which kick in around midnight, although from past experience you might be best looking at other parts of the city the drinks are hideously priced.
An old Warehouse dominates much of Port Vell: this brick structure has been restored beautifully and now houses expensive restaurants fronting the harbour. The area is popular with joggers and rollerbladers (keep an eye out lest you be knocked on your arse by these) and has daily craft markets which are definitely worth a browse. Sat in the harbour you can dine/​drink on a restaurant boat: little expensive as expected but you can pop in just for a coffee should you wish whilst pretending you’re on the yacht of a famous and wealthy friend.

Der alte Hafen Barcelonas ist heute ein kleiner, aber feiner Yachthafen und außerdem Mittelpunkt der Einkaufs– und Erlebnismeile am Meer.
Hinter dem Port Vell findet man das Maremagnum, das IMAX-​Kino und das Aquarium.
