This place is a bit out of the way for most tourist but if you are in the neighborhood, stop by. There is bar style seating for about 15 people and the doors stay open. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat then this is not it. It’s situated in a neighborhood where there is alway activity going on – cars driving by with loud music, lively conversations in Spanish and such. I believe the English is limited but that doesn’t stop me from ordering the chicken basket(canasta) with fries with a Coke. You stand in line, place your order and wait a few minutes for it to be plated. We always get the quarter or half chicken with the basket. The chicken is grilled or rotisserie style and fork tender and yet the chicken breast remains moist and flavorful and the fries are always fresh and lightly seasoned. We tried other PR specialties like the rice and peas(arroz con gandules), yuca, and morcilla. They were good enough but what keeps us returning is their finger lickin chicken.

This is a local’s ONLY kind of place, «destination eating» for those that know where to find FRESH&SUPREMLY delicious Roast Chicken, Homemade French Fries and ALL of the purely Puerto Rican side dishes such as Morcilla(Blood Sausage), Maduros(Sweet Plantains), Arroz y Gandlues(Yellow Rice with Pigeon Peas) y mucho mas(and a lot more). It’s a very small open-air destination spot. Few tables, Hard to park. And visitors are better off getting there by Taxi, and asking him her to give you their business card so you can call them for a return ride. This place feels like the Bronx in the 1970’s…a super authentic proudly Puerto Rican chicken spot with an Irish name. Have Nestor scoop you a cup of ice cream with a big smile for only $ 1.35!!! I love«Sool-ee-vahn’s!», as the local people say it!!! :)

Muy buen pollo asado con variedad de complementos para acompañarlo como yuca hervida, batata asada, papas fritas, arroz guisado, plátanos maduros, morcilla, cuajo y varias cosas más de la cocina criolla.
