El pan sobao sabroso, en cuanto a los sandwiches y dulces son aceptables. Es lo mejorcito en el área! El servicio es aceptable.

Puerto Rico has a lot of great bakeries where you can get delicious bread, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, lattes and lots of sweet pastries. Some are distinguished for their ambience and décor, while others excel thanks to the quality of their products. Moncho Pan fits among the latter: don’t expect much by the way of a nice environment where to eat here, but do expect to have tried the best«pan sobao»(Puerto Rican sweet bread) you’ll ever try and some loaded«criollo»(local) sandwiches. The pastries are quite good as well, but it’s really all about the bread here. Get a pound of «pan sobao» and a cubano sandwich. You’ll leave a happy person!

Best bread and sandwich in Puerto Rico, try the«croqueta» open late, perfect for breakfast after hanging out! Get croquetas to go, they are the best ever! Place is really fun to be with lot of little details to entertain your eyes

I count myself a lucky man because my wife is from the neighborhood in which Moncho Pan is located. This is always the 1st place we stop after arriving back at home for a cortadito and tostada in the morning. They have the best pan sobao in the entire isla, the choripan and the medianoche are my wife’s favorites while I cannot seem to get enough of the Cubano with a bottle of Malta India. Every item I have tried at Moncho Pan has been extremely tasty and I love the easy-going atmosphere. The turkey and pork are roasted daily, something you see in very few places anywhere. I find it funny that people complain that the staff is not friendly. They have always been extremely friendly to us… and if they were not, I would still frequent Moncho Pan for the tastes of the island that elude us in the western United States. This is my favorite place to eat in PR.

El mejor pan sobao de PR! Recomendable. Lo único complicado es el estacionamiento. Buen precio.

Definitely less friendly than other bakeries in Puerto Rico. Many spots are super welcoming of tourists(which we were). But very few tourists will make it to this part of town, so this place is not. In other words: you sorta get the vibe that they don’t want you in there. And it’s a bit crowded, cluttered, and clusterfuckerized inside, so you feel even more out of place. Given that the food wasn’t any better, cheaper, nor more authentic than other bakeries, will have to say this spot is one you shouldn’t bother going out of your way for.

Pan Sobao from Moncho Pan is a classic. It has a sweetness unlike any other pan sobao in the metropolitan area. Their sandwiches are also packed to the brim.

My girlfriend’s cousin took us to this bakery on our way to Cerro de Nandy. They got me the Empanada filled with beef. It was a great snack that held my stomach for the drive. Very delicious and more flavorful with the Sriracha sauce. I wanted to try other pastries and sandwiched, well maybe next time.

Here is where you can get the best oatmeal in town– hands down! They also have a great beefsteak sandwich. That is what i get most of the time for lunch. You must get the«sobao» bread which is a soft and slightly sweet bread although they also have criollo bread. Great place to have breakfast or lunch!

The best bakery in the area, and personally, in all Puerto Rico. Two words: pan sobao. Its the softest, warmest, sweetest loaf of bread you will eat in your life. The best sandwiches are: turkey, cubano, chicken and the Tripleta. Obviously, ask them to be served on Pan Sobao bread. The sunny side up eggs they serve are made to perfection. Perfect. Like a fellow Unilocaler has pointed out, a wonderful morning in Puerto Rico can easily be described as arriving early to Moncho Pan, order some pan sobao buttered toast with some coffee, sit and enjoy. It is true that the employees could use a dose of Sunny Disposition vitamins to be nicer, but I’ve never been treated badly. Visit Moncho pan, you won’t be disappointed.

Had a turkey sandwich(cut from the actual bird) and some pastries. Excellent bread, definitely added to my favorite panaderias(bakeries) in the island. The service was spectacular!

Awesome place for fresh sandwiches(and bread). I never once fail to get one(my favorite– turkey sandwich) when I come to PR for the weekend. My familys’ faves are ‘pan con bistec’ and ‘turkey with everything’. Their turkey is freshly cut so its not the typical cold cuts you get in typical«panaderias”/deli. You can order sandwiches in their famous ‘pan sobao’, whole wheat(which is a great choice because its a whole wheat version of their best bread) and their regular Cuban bread… all are great choices. They never fail to put enough meat in their sandwiches. I take off 1 star because sometimes, when its packed, its a hassle to park; and because the staff is not always the nicest of people ;)

The«pan sobao» they sell there is amazing, I suggest you order it and ask it to have butter inside, buy the local newspaper, a cup of cofee and you are set for the morning. The flank steack sandwich is pretty good depending on your taste. If I had to rate the sandwich I would give them a 2 stars, but the bread… puts them way over.
