History

Established in 2014.

Chikako was born and raised in Japan. She moved to NYC and eventually came to PR for vacation where she discovered surfing and the ocean lifestyle. It was a life changing visit. She has since lived here for 12 years and truly believes (as do many around here) «life is better when you surf». Damiano was born and raised in Rome, Italy and started surfing at the age of 12. After 13 years experience as a lifeguard in Italy, he began his world travels which included visits to Australia, Bali, and Portugal until he also made his life changing visit to Puerto Rico. Damiano has spent just about every day of the past few years at the beach. He has spent his days working as a surf instructor and is an ISA certified surfing and paddle board instructor, a USLA Open Water Lifeguard with Open Water Jet Ski Rescue certification. Born from their mutual love of the ocean and joy in working in the water, Rincon Paddle Boards is ready to help you have an amazing time in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Ive done paddle boarding before, in other countries, but the staff at this location are very helpful and clear about how to actually work a paddle board. They give easy, but great instructions and tips on how to get up on the board and work it. They are also willing to let you paddle for 30 mins if youd like. They watch you the whole time for your safety, and even offer you water at the end of your session.

We took surf lessons from Damiano and Ethan of Rincon Paddle Boards. We were a group of 4 girls and complete beginners. Damiano and Ethan were great! They were friendly, patient, encouraging and very knowledgable. All 4 of us got up on our boards. 2 of us liked it so much, we took lessons again the next day. Would highly recommend them for your surf lessons!

Dorado and was so pleased we did! My boyfriend took a lesson while my nephew and i relaxed on the beach. The owners went above and beyond to make our experience memorable from providing toys to the toddler to providing food recommendations and safe instruction. My guy was up paddleboarding in no time! Awesome local hubby and wife couple. We support local and had a great experience!

We just got back from our paddle and had a blast! Three of us rented boards all with different levels of experience. Damiano and crew made us feel very comfortable upon arrival.
Included with the price you get a 10 minute mini lesson before you head out if you’re a beginner! I go quite frequently back home but in a river so it’s definitely more challenging in the ocean. My sister who has never been before learned everything she needed to know before heading in!
They get all your gear ready for you, size you, and help you into the water. They even give you encouraging words that you probably will fall but don’t let it bring you down! We had so much fun. At one point I guess we were getting close too the rocks and Damiano walked down the shore to motion to us to head out further. Even though the water was choppy and it was windy, this is a great location to go.
We are very glad we chose Rincon Paddle parts over the others. You can tell they care about their customers experience and safety. We will be back this week!

We rented two paddle boards and headed north along the coast. The boards were in great condition and were high quality hard boards (not soft boards). Jeff was super nice and really helpful and gave us some good tips for other things to do in Rincon. The water was warm and the views were beautiful. The water was clear and we could see coral on the sea bottom as we paddled. Caught some waves and did some paddle surfing as well. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico and highly recommend it.

Super helpful. They have a ton of boards & other toys to make the incredible water just that much more fun. Staff is super helpful & excited to get people out & using the equipment. They clean /​rake the beach in the AM. Seem to keep everything nice & clean. My wife rented the paddle board with my daughter & they both had a blast.

Pleasant staff and they did not laugh to hard while we embarrassed ourselves. The water is calm at this location so a prime location to learn. They were flexible with the pricing, in terms of start with 1 hr and add extra time at a discount if desired. We rented 2 boards for 5 people and each took turns for an hour, one of the great photo ops of our trip.

I’ve gone paddleboarding a couple of times, and Rincon Paddle Boards has been the most convenient and friendliest of all rental shops I’ve tried.
1. Location– The Marina is perfect for beginners. Shallow water, sandy bottom, and buoys to serve as a guide if you’re a beginner. Their tent is right by the water which makes it super convenient when carrying the board. There’s parking a few feet away. And there’s a great, cheap, non-​pretentious bar/​restaurant right there (El Ancla)! Be sure to get some Crab empanadillas!
2. Friendliness– Chikako and Damiano are amazing. Super laid back, they are very helpful and give you hints of where to go as well as paddling techniques to help you get the best of your SUP experience.
3. Attention to Detail– This sounds obvious, but they actually pay attention to the customers. They make sure to give you the correct gear: right size board and paddle (other places give you the first thing they grab out of the rack). They hold your belongings in a safe place if you don’t have where to store them. They help you carry your board in and out of the water (others leave you stranded at the end of the rental). And at the end of the session you feel so welcomed you just want to hang out with them by the shore.
I can’t wait to go back! Great place for either a solo trip or with a group of friends!
