1÷10÷2016 — While in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, you have to go to LARICOMINI. It is the best bakery in town, known for their pastries, breads and Brazo Gitano. Everything is fresh. I came here for their Sobao bread also known as sweet bread or pan de manteca. This bread is best when it is straight out the oven. TIP: always order 2 loafs, because I promise you will eat one on the way home. TRUESTORY! We nickname it; «El major pan del mundo»(The best bread in the world) They also make Pan de Agua(water bread, similar to French or Italian), Pan Frances(French) and pan flauta. The pastries are huge and absolutely addicting. We order the Puertorican donuts, quesito, pastelitos de guayaba and my sister’s favorite Mayorca. Great customer service as always. They also serve food; they have a buffet style set-up.

If you are spending time in Puerto Rico you must try a local bakery. Order the quesitos or the pastelillos de guayaba, you can’t go wrong. The café con leche is awesome and I have never been able to replicate it at home. We usually grab breakfast and I order the scrambled eggs with everything except the cheese, it comes with toasted«pan de agua». Yum. The best part is sitting alongside the local Mayaguezanos in the bakery some of which come everyday while enjoying my café con leche and food.

Awesome service. Delicious brazo gitano, a Mayaguez delicacy. It’s a pastry roll with a variety of fillings. The best Tembleque we have ever had.(high praise from my puerto rican wife who loves it and makes it herself). And an okay rum cake but everything else was so good I’d have loved to try more sweets!

Delicious pastries and good sandwiches. This is a casual cafeteria-style bakery which also has a grill/sandwich counter. Good for kids. Located on a street just north of the Plaza Colon in Mayaguez(don’t trust the map). We went for a casual dinner. We loved the cubano(the bread was amazing!) and the hamburger was cooked perfectly(not overdone). We also got a huge box of pastries to go. Yum!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and have always enjoyed their pastries and sweets, specially their cheescake, their«tres leches», and their«quesitos». They also serve lunch, but I’ve never been interested enough to go eat lunch there.

If you want Puertorican style bread(aka«pan sobao») this is the bakery to go it comes in two varieties. Regular and Flute(pan de flauta) one of the few places you can find the latter type. Delicious really
