Great service, food and wine. Great place to hang out with friends. The french fries are the best, they are homemade! They have a great variety of wines and cavas. The owner is very friendly.

La selección de vinos es pésima. La comida mal preparada, las mesas incómodas y el servicio irrespetuoso.

Have a meal among the wines. At Wine Box, you’re seated at one of a few tables inside this wine shop, surrounded by bottles lining the shelves. It’s different, intimate. And mighty tasty. The waitress hands over no paper menus, instead bringing over a large whiteboard with the offerings. She’s quick to recommend the most popular dishes and her personal favorites. We came on a Gustazo(the Puerto Rican version of Groupon) which included 1 bottle of wine(Malbec, Pinot Noir, or Chardonnay) and 2 of the selected appetizers. We chose the Malbec, which was served slightly chilled — not exactly traditional, but appreciated in the hot and humid PR. Out of the apps, we went with the plate of manchego, prosciutto, almonds, and raisins as well as the snapper ceviche served with tostones. Both were such great accompaniments to the wine, that we soon found ourselves out of provisions! Luckily, there are 3 of us, and the Gustazo says 1 coupon is valid for 2 people or 2 can be used per table. The Wine Box staff had absolutely no issues when we whipped out a second coupon(yes, planning ahead here), ordered another bottle, and chose 2 more apps: the tuna tataki and the sliders. We also picked the chorizo and plantain empanadillas off the menu per our waitress’s and tummies’ recommendations. All of these dishes were stellar, and the variety they offered really rounded out of meal. The tuna was fresh and tropical with sweet fruit in the fishy mix. The sliders sandwiched savory meat between two sweet, soft buns, similar to Hawaiian rolls. And the empanadillas were both savory and sweet from the chorizo and amarrillos, served with a guava sauce to really kick up the Puerto Rican. I’d order any and all of these again and again. In true Puerto Rican spirit, our server was very kind and helpful. After finishing our second bottle, 2 of the 3 of us ordered an additional glass of wine(when you’re surrounded by bottles, it’s pretty hard not to), and she poured a little bit into the third person’s glass for free. Livin’ la vida vino. The ambiance is unique, and the food is varied, innovative, and pretty darn delicious. Break the foil, pull out the cork, and give Wine Box a sip!
