With the Family for dinner and got some boricua fried rice and a few sushi and basically everything was lunch size. The service was to friendly and the price a little high for the dinner size. However, got to say the food was nice and the was not that crowded.

My girlfriend and I eat sushi every other week, on average. We decided we needed a sushi fix during a short vacation in Puerto Rico, so we did a quick search. Ichiban was the only place in Caguas, so we gave it a shot. The place landed in our top 5 of all time. Everything was spot-on. Service was polite and prompt, edamame was salted and properly steamed, sushi was fresh and delicious. It’s not that hard: fill your sushi with thick cuts of fresh seafood(as Ichiban did), and you make great sushi. Two of our rolls had some fried plantain on top, which we really enjoyed, and had not seen before. Even the mints were good. Solid all around.

Of the few sushi restaurants in Caguas this is probably one of the best. Never seems to be too crowded and the Teppanyaki chefs are always friendly. The teppanyaki seems to be a bit overpriced but overall it’s a nice restaurant to visit in the area.

I would surely go back, but I would walk there rather than run. The service was pretty good, we had an attentive waiter, but the place was a little noisy. The menu is quite varied but a little heavy on the«fashion» rollls(cream cheese, Tempura flakes, Amarillos…) which I do not favor. The sushi that I had(Tuna, and super white tuna) had very good flavor, but the technique seemed flawed and rather than the full piece, it was a little butchered, also the size was a little to big, about two portions crammed into one. The spider roll was so so, nothing special and a little bit lacking, some of the other rolls were a little bit inconsistent in the rice and proteins but had good flavor. The eel and avocado roll was very good, creamy and sweet. Prices were about par for the course, So far I think this is my best choice for the Caguas area.
