The CorkScrew Wine Bar

The food is great and the owner is a lot of fun! I loved that my steak was prepared at my table.

I came here based on the review I saw on Unilocal and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a great place for drinks and they have a very good selection of local cheese that you won’t get anywhere else.

I love this place! It sadly was discovered on our last day here. The bar specializes in wines and port of Portugal. We had pre dinner drinks and cheese. Most wines are by the glass, which is quite impressive given the size of the wine list. Our drink selection was put in the capable hands of the owner who picked a lovely white and rose for the cheeses. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. We were so impressed we came back post dinner for some port. We were educated on the various types of port and had both a white and ruby reserve port. The owner was so kind and was ready to have us taste more port to continue our education tomorrow, but sadly we leave. In an area of tourist traps, this wine bar is a standout in the Alfalma!

É só um dos melhores bares para ir beber um copo de vinho com os amigos ou mesmo só. O ambiente é bastante acolhedor, descontraído e a oferta de vinhos é simplesmente inacreditável!
Como sou apenas uma apreciadora e não uma verdadeira conhecedora do assunto, e não querendo correr o risco de ceder à tentadora visão de tanta garraf, pedi ao Nuno, um dos proprietários, que me recomendasse um bom vinho branco. Daqueles que acompanha bem com música e conversa.
Et voilá, eis-​me deliciada com um Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc, fresco e inesquecivelmente delicioso. O difícil foi resistir à tentação de pedir uma outra garrafa e como a carne é fraca, eis-​nos de copo alegremente erguido em jeito de repetição.
Se estiveres por Alfama, ou mesmo que não estejas, vem até aqui, entra e bebe um copo. Se não souberes o que pedir, não te acanhes e pede que te recomendem algo, tenho a certeza que a experiência será como a minha, a melhor possível!

Trendy wine bar in an otherwise traditional part of the city. Expensive cheese and sausage, a few entrees and starters. Main benefit: open much earlier than most other places in Alfama.

Great and knowledgable service, homemade pumpkin jam with unique cheeses, great sangria, fabulous wine options. We sat in the open window seat for two hours listening to the fado music across the street. A perfect last night in Lisbon.
