Tasquinha do Lagarto

It was me and my husband’s first time in Lisbon. We found this place on Unilocal,and decided to give it a try. The food were very authentic and delicious! We also love the service!

Don’t miss this neighborhood gem if you are anywhere near it in a hotel like the Corinthia or Mercure Hotel. It is a short walk up the expressway access road but well worth it. The sidewalk is narrow in some places. The name of the restaurant is on the front window down low so keep your eyes open. There is a smoking and non-​smoking section so request what is appropriate. The couple of fellows that spoke English as well as the waiters that did not were extremely congenial. I had the cabrito (young goat) and my wife had the mixed grill which were both really good and plentiful. We split a green salad with tomatoes and onions to start, which was really fresh and tasty. We tried a half liter of their house red wine which I would compare to a really good chianti. We ordered two more half liters to finish the meal. We were there for a late lunch and, even though they closed lunch at 3:30 pm, They told us not to rush and did not bother us. We finished up about 4pm. The entire bill came to 32 euros with wine and everything. Even though tips are not expected here in Lisbon and you can leave up to 10% for really good service, I chose to hand the pleasant cashier/​waiter 40 euros and told him to keep the change and still felt like I should have paid more in light of our other restaurant experiences in Lisbon, none of which have been really bad. We would return tomorrow (Saturday) but the owner told us they close Saturdays only and will be closing for the usual brief Summer vacation toward the end of August so call before going at that time. These are the salt of the earth type small-​business people that earn and deserve your patronage.

Um restaurante agradável no que ao ambiente diz respeito. Gosto particularmente dos petiscos, como caracóis (os preferidos), paio ou croquetes. Depois das entradas, o entrecosto costuma ser a minha eleição, é simplesmente divinal. Os preços são simpáticos: por norma, fica por 30 euros para duas pessoas. Talvez por isso, está sempre muito cheio. O único senão será, por ventura, o facto de ser frequentado por muitos sportinguistas — não fosse o espaço chamar-​se Lagarto! Fora isso, é uma boa escolha, sobretudo quando, em dias de verão, apetece comer caracóis.

Boa comida a bons preços são as primeiras palavras que me vem à cabeça quando falo deste restaurante. Entrei neste restaurante pela mão de um lagarto como não podia deixar de ser. Só depois soube que este é um lugar de convivio de sportinguistas. E que grande lugar. Aqui a comida é bem confeccionada e com um gostinho caseirinho muito especial. Recomendo o Arroz de polvo (uma delicia e super tenro), bochechas de porco preto com farinheira, costeletas de borrego grelhadas. As doses são genrosas ou não estivessemos nós num restaurante de gentes transmontanas.
As sobremesas são muito boas.
É daqueles restaurantes que não consigo estar muito tempo sem visitar…
Não posso deixar de aconselhar uma especialidade da casa o arroz de garoupa… uma maravilha!

É uma tasca bastante grande ao contrário do que o nome indica, com 2 salas quase sempre cheias ou bem compostas. Os pratos são tipicamente portugueses e as entradas são muito boas. É local de encontro de sportinguistas mas há sempre adeptos de outros clubes que não resistem às boas iguarias desta casa. As doses são bem servidas e os funcionários são de uma grande simpatia. Só experimentei jantar aqui e em grupo, pelo que foi sempre animado. Reparei que havia bastantes grupos espalhados, não é ambiente romântico nem íntimo.
