What a fun place to eat dinner.
The restaurant was completely empty the entire time we were there, but the food was still great.
Service is old school, a bunch of nice old guys pouring your glass full and plating your food from hot silver pans.
Bread– they bring bread with olives, butter, and sardine pâté. About four different types of bread.
Asparagus appetizer– 2⁄5 not the best way to start since this was cooked to mush and rather unappetizing. We had the vinaigrette dressing, and it was so acidic that my tongue was burning!
Filet medallions with egg and rice– 5⁄5 so unique! An incredibly flavorful sauce on a tasty steak. Not sure it would qualify as US-​quality filet, but the taste was sublime. Served with a fabulously strange side of rice mixed with softly scrambled eggs that melt in your mouth.
Codfish, chef-​style– 4⁄5 flavorful codfish (local specialty) mixed with rice, seasonings, and some other things that all came together nicely.
All in all, a very nice dining experience in a comfortable atmosphere.

Bacalhau no forno, carnes, peixe fresco, tratados como em poucos lugares.
Bons vinhos.
Peca por ser restaurante de fumadores o que é uma lastima para quem aprecia aromas porque está impregnado do cheiro a tabaco.

São cada vez mais raros os restaurantes com um serviço como o do Saraiva’s. Aqui tudo é profissionalismo e saber lidar com os clientes, muitos dos quais «habituées» de longa data. A razão porque se vêm ao Saraiva’s não é só a qualidade do serviço mas também a qualidade da comida. Irrepreensível na qualidade e no preparo, é garantia de que usufruímos de uma excelente refeição, que pode ser acompanhada por um dos muitos vinhos da extensa carta de vinhos. Sugiro o Bife de Atum ou a Alheira de Caça com ovo.
