Happy hour. Enough said. It was only € 4.95 and I got a huge salad, fries and a drink! We got a bit lost in translation though as I’d ordered the peru n chapa which said steak on the menu in parentheses and as we ordered at the counter we kept hearing turkey but it turned out to be pork. Either way, it was a lot of food and well cooked and a nice cheap meal if you’re sightseeing in the Belem area.

Two words. HAPPY HOUR! Between 10am-​3pm you can get a baguette or salad fries and a drink for € 4.95. I got a chicken salad after seeing all the pictures on Unilocal and it was just as described by fellow Unilocalers. It was HUGE! I mean they couldn’t of possibly fit more on the plate! And hot fresh grilled chicken on top! Yum! Don’t let the line put you off, they are very efficient and move quickly, probably waited about 15mins and the line was out the door. Try the house lemonade.

It only costs almost 4 euro for the beef salad. The staff are really nice!

The food here will not change your life, but it will definitely save your wallet. Amazing value, solid food, free wifi, TVs playing football games, lots of locals, and friendly staff who speak English. A budget tourist’s dream.

Absolutely delicious! We’ve been in Portugal for a couple days now and this is easily the best spot we’ve been to for lunch. The sandwiches are extremely fresh and only cost $ 4! It’s a great spot to stop after walking all around Belem. Must try!

Bonne adresse pour manger rapidement et à petits prix à Belém. La carte est bien fournie. Bön, quand on né maîtrise pas le portugais on a tendance à commander les plats qu’on arrive à déchiffrer mais tout avait l’air très bon.
Il y avait énormément de monde en ce mois d’août mais ils sont super efficaces donc nous avons été servis en ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes max. Les serveurs sont super gentils malgré la salle pleine à craquer de touristes: ils restent souriants, on fait des efforts mutuellement pour se comprendre: ça fait vraiment plaisir (amis restaurateurs parisiens: prenez en de la graine !!!)
Bref c’était bon, nous avons pris à emporter pour manger dans le parc juste en face pour fuir un peu la cohue :)

Loved this place. Right on the touristy block between the egg tarts and the monastery and yet a delicious cheap lunch! Enjoyed the steak salads. Falafel, chicken and steak pitas all good as well. Fast food avec bon rapport qualité/prix.serveurs très sympa. Bonnes portions. Salades très copieuses et sandwichs corrects. La formule combo avec frites et boissons est à un prix très correct. Possibilité de manger en extérieur.

Yummy and inexpensive, with Wi-​Fi and friendly service. I’d come back cheerfully.
Did I mention that beer is the same price as a soda? And included in the specials?
Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Belem.

sehr gutes essen zu einem unschlagbaren preis. leichte verständigungsschwierigkeiten auf englisch (tipp: vor der bestellung genau überlegen was man will, denn wenn man einmal an der reihe ist gehts flott). alles in allem top preis/​leistungs verhältnis!

Sowas wünsche ich mir bei uns in Hamburg auch!
Das Mittagsmenü von 11 — 15 Uhr für unter 5 € ist einfach unschlagbar.
Waren gleich zwei mal hintereinander dort.
Sonntags um die Mittagszeit war es sehr voll, waren sicher eine halbe Stunde angestanden und mit Sitzplätzen sah es dann auch eher mau aus. Hat sich aber trotzdem gelohnt!
Ich empfehle übrigens das Beguette mit Hähnchen und Biersoße — das war der Knaller!

Awesome place to get an inexpensive, healthy meal while making a daytrip to Belém. A grilled chicken salad, french fries, and large café com leite only set me back € 4,90! I was surprised how large the salad was. You can choose what you want in it, everything was fresh, and they don’t skimp on the grilled chicken. Had I known how large the salad was, I wouldn’t have ordered the fries. I still ended up eating everything. The workers spoke great English and were super friendly. Don’t forget there’s additional seating on the second floor. Located only a few doors away from the well-​known pastel de nata place, Pastéis de Belém.

Dos meus favoritos pra refeições rápidas. Sandes e saladas muito apetitosas. Serviço relativamente rápido e quase personalizado.

So ein Laden sollte mal expandieren!
Alles frisch und individuell vor deiner Nase zubereitetet. Wirkt zwar am Anfang ein wenig chaotisch, aber sobald dann mal bestellt ist, läuft alles von alleine. Ich würde zu den Stoßzeiten auch einen Sitzplatz im oberen Bereich empfehlen, da es unten dann ein wenig hektisch ist.
Uns hat’s richtig gut geschmeckt, waren echt überrascht;)
Die Portionen sind echt großzügig einkalkuliert, die Salate sind auch riesig.
Man bekommt hier für kleines Geld echt viel, sind zu zweit für 10,10 € mit Getränk echt richtig satt geworden:)

Simple, home style food, served in huge portions, for a low price. We really enjoyed our meal (chicken stroganoff), the ingredients are fresh and everything is fast.

After having nothing but pastel de nata in our stomach all morning and afternoon, my husband and I were looking for a quick but proper meal in the area before hopping back onto our sightseeing tour bus.
We checked out a few restaurants nearby and they all seemed like tourist traps with extensive menus in more than 5 languages. We walked by pao pao and saw a line with locals through the door — we decided to join the commotion and checked out what was worth lining up for.
People kept walking out with ginormous platter of food. And I couldn’t helped but eyed/​asked a particular table on what they were having. It was a salad — yep one of the 3.75 euros salads. Not only were there more than 20 types salads for me to choose from, there offered unlimited toppings! I honestly could have just picked any of the salad and be perfectly happy — ultimately I went with their grilled turkey salad while my fiancé went with their shawarma pita and fries.
Once we ordered and were given the receipt by the cashier, we went to the counter to have our order made. Even with the line through the door, our foods were ready in no time. Our server who prepared and packed our food was super sweet. She spoke great English and took her time in explaining my salad and made sure we were happy with what was given before us leaving (how often do you see this back in the states?).
We hurriedly took our food to their second floor seating. Space was tight but all the locals were friendly and willing to share. Onto the food! My salad has literally everything one can put on a salad along with 5 huge grilled turkey breasts. My husband warned me to not finish it if I was still intending to have dinner that night. The salad was so fresh and the turkey was so well seasoned. My husband’s pita was stuffed with copious amount of meat. Instead of serving it drenched in white and hot sauce back in the states, it had just the veggies and the meat (yay no soggy pita!). Fries, served with tartar sauce (everyone automatically gets a cup, don’t see ketchup anywhere in the restaurant), were crispy and simply seasoned. For under 10 euros, we were beyond stuffed!
If only pao pao exists back in the city, I wouldn’t mind just eating their salads every day. No wonder all the restaurant businesses around (especially the fast food burger joint) were struggling, there’s just no competition.

As baguettes são o ex-​libris e há baguettes para todos os gostos, mas a que eu gosto mais é a de frango grelhado. O serviço é bom, rápido e barato. Acho que não se pode pedir muito mais, ainda por cima quando estamos a falar de uma das zonas mais turísticas da cidade. Há também uma variedade de saladas (nunca provei nenhuma, mas devo dizer que têm todas um grande aspeto, as pitas falafel, que também recomendo.
O único senão são as filas que às vezes se formam e o facto de ser um espaço pequeno que muitas vezes não tem sítio para sentar, mas isso até é um sinal de que compensa. Tanta gente não pode estar errada.

Gosto muito das baguetes deste mini espaço, sim…é muito pequeno!
Belém é daqueles sítios que eu venho e não me canso com o filho mais novo, ele aqui tem espaço para jogar a bola e temos espaços para visitar sem se gastar dinheiro.
Nestes dias, eu prefiro sempre comprar aqui umas baguetes com frango, que ambos adoramos.
Eles têm uma enorme variedade, têm também bifanas e comida deste género!
Depois vamos para o jardim e fazemos um mini-​piquenique, uma refeição diferente e muito divertida!
Os preços são acessíveis e o pessoal é simpático.
O espaço apesar de pequenino é agradável!

Um local bom e barato para comida rápida, com excelente relação qualidade-​preço. As baguetes e os kebabs são muito bons e as batatas fritas com maionese de alho valem bem a pena! O atendimento é regular. A esplanada é um pouco em cima da estrada, prefiro o primeiro andar, com os seus azulejos com ditados populares. Estes acabam por compôr um espaço popularucho que, por si, não tem grande personalidade. Mais do que um sítio para se estar, é um sítio para se ir comer.

O restaurante que não é fast food, nem é para comer de faca e garfo, serve das mais famosas baguetes de Lisboa. Os preços são muito em conta e costuma estar cheio, mas o serviço é extremamente rápido. Como é um espaço pequeno e claustrofóbico, o mais agradável é pedir a comida para levar e sentar nos jardins de Belém a desfrutar de uma boa refeição. Também os empregados são bastante simpáticos, especialmente a Andreia. Se for servido por ela e começar a ser assíduo, vai reconhecê-​lo e fazer-​lhe uma festa de cada vez que aparece! Relativamente à comida, embora se fale muito da versão que têm do shoarma, a minha sandes preferida continua a ser a de frango com pimentos.

O Pão Pão Queijo Queijo é um dos poucos exemplos de fast food de qualidade 100% português. As baguetes, enormes e óptimas, e as batatas fritas, com o seu molho espectacular, podem comer-​se em conjunto com uma bebida por cerca de cinco euros. Para além disto, também há pratos e pitas shoarma, e tudo é confeccionado e preparado à nossa frente, à medida que escolhemos os ingredientes que desejamos. Possui uma sala interior na parte de cima repleta de ditados portugueses nos azulejos distribuídos pelas paredes, e tem também uma esplanada solarenga em plena Belém.

Nem só dos pastéis vem a fama gastronómica de Belém. Se a ideia é um snack rápido talvez a famosa casa nem seja a melhor ideia, tal é a afluência de turistas que lá passa. Além disso, quando está bom tempo, Belém é uma zona demasiado bonita para nos fecharmos num sítio a comer. O melhor é mesmo pegar alguma coisa rápida, barata e saborosa, e aproveitar para passear.
O Pão Pão Queijo Queijo é o sítio ideal para isso, sem termos de recorrer às cadeias de fast-​food do costume. O espaço é minúsculo e apertado mas o que conta é a lista de sandes em baguette. Enquanto esperamos pela nossa vez podemos distrair-​nos com os ditados gastronómicos espalhados pelas paredes. Variações de clássicos como a bifana e a shawarma fazem parte das jóias da casa mas aconselho a experimentarem a sandes «coco louco de frango». E se estiverem na dúvida entre pedir ou não o molho para as batatas, peçam. Prometo que não se vão arrepender.

Não vende pão de queijo, mas sim, as melhores baguetes e pittas de shoarma ou falafel, e fantásticos kebabs, tudo feito na hora, e com preços low cost. A ementa é variada, mas estes são os pratos que já provei e garanto que são de chorar por mais.
Refeições deliciosas, enormes e baratas. O que posso querer mais?
É a este restaurante árabe que vou naqueles dias que me apetece encher a barriga com comidinha a sério.
O restaurante fica à frente do Jardim de Belém, e a decoração baseia-​se em azulejos com ditados populares em tons de vermelho terra, mesinha e cadeiras a combinar.
O bolo de chocolate também é magnifico, mas infelizmente é raro sobrar um espacinho após prato gigante que quase me faz rebolar.

Toll. Alles sehr eng, zur Primetime mit Anstehen verbunden und wirkt zumindest für den Mitteleuropäer recht chaotisch.
Aber es lohnt sich, eine Horde von Personal bereitet alles nach Wunsch frisch zu.
Bei dem wilden Mix aus Kebab, Baguette und Salaten sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein und das für kleines Geld. Und man unterstützt ein mutmaßlich individuelles Konzept, das ein gutes Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis bietet.

Miam Miam Miammmm. On y est allé car notre guide nous le conseillait. Quel délice ! Il y a une multitude de choix de pain mais également pour la garniture. Je né pense pas que quelqu’un puisse repartir de cet endroit en disant qu’il n’y avait rien qui lui plaisait. Petit point négatif, il y a souvent du monde. malgré tout, le service est assez rapide, donc pas plus de 10 minutes, et d’un côté, c’est tant mieux, ça vous donnera le temps de lire la totalité des propositions pour vos sandwiches !

Gute Baguettes zum kleinen Preis. Evtl. langes Anstehen nötig. Nach dem Zahlen ist Durchsetzungsvermögen gefragt.
