A Hipster’s Paradise! It seemed like a good idea at the time — a brightly-lit place to sit and get refreshment after a delightful hour next door shopping the lovely A Vida Portuguese with its cozy, hospitable service. If you want to walk into a café as the only person in line and say the customary«Olá, bom dia,» be coldly ignored, then have your simple questions like«how much does this cost?» greeted with disdain and no eye contact… And if you would then like to make your order and have your payment ignored after you count it out and place it on the counter… AND if you then want to swallow your pride and sit down with your drink and try to log on to wireless after being twice scolded by the bouffant-haired, multiple tribal-pierced barista [don’t worry, no real-life tribes were harmed in the crafting of her persona] with extra disgust that the WIFI is WORKING only to confirm with a fellow café-goer that it isn’t… then go to this café. The canned mango tea is served with a lovely rounded glass of ice. The electric, yell-y, drumm-heavy music was piped over what sounded(or rather felt, viscerally, thumping through my bones and flesh) like discoteque-worthy speakers. The gorgeous, traditionally tiled plaza outside is full of surfers(or at least people who want to look like they surf) and many other people who look exceedingly cool in various other media-tized ways. Muito obrigada, Café Largo. We shall not meet again.

This café is quite nice and their prices very reasonable. Nice location with several tables outside. They also have fast wifi and power outlets near several of their tables — important points for nomad workers like myself. However, the service was horrible! I had to wait a long time before they were taking my order, and once I finally got the attention of the waitress she was extremely unfriendly and rude to me. I doubt I’ll ever come here again.
