Fantastic, good value Indian in the heart of Lisbon. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.

We’ve found an Indian restaurant we love in Lisbon! I’ve missed Indian food since leaving London. Not any more. Apart from the option of Italian food on the menu as well, this is as close to a really good UK curry you’ll find. The service was A+, the food equalled that, and to be honest I’m not really sure why I’m not giving it 5 stars. Maybe because we went at about 7 on a Wednesday and were the only people there. We were eating early that day. Don’t worry, we’re going again on Friday, and I’m sure it’ll be nice and busy. Although hopefully not too busy to get a table.

We had the vegetable pakora, chicken karahy(sp?), fish masala, white rice and two black tea. The food was outstanding and so was the service. To top it all, it was less than 30 euros. The cheapest and best meal I’ve had in Lisbon by far, mind you the food in the city is great.

Wonderful Experience. Their lamb dishes are excellent, especially the lamb tikka masala. I also had the paneer naan and a bottle of white wine, which were also excellent. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience there and would definitely recommend if you want good indian food in Lisbon!

Definitely not the best Indian food I’ve had in Europe. They could definitely work on their flavor and work on using less oil! There are not enough waiters — the few waiters that are there are very clearly being overworked, we felt so bad watching how much they had to run around. Price was alright, but taking into account the overall experience wouldn’t recommend this place.

My in-laws are from India, so of course they love Indian food. After a few days of European cuisine without many spices, they were ready for some flavors from home. Twice, fellow Indians called out to them in Hindi and suggested they come here. Pretty sure they work for these guys, but okay. You can have Indian food or Italian food. Yes, really. We all went Indian and I had some chana chaat. It was fine, but pretty boring. My family had a much better experience and were thrilled with their food, but I have a feeling it was more about the comfort of home rather than the actual quality. I do love Indian food because it’s so easy to find something vegan, and this place is no exception. So if you need to shake things up a bit, you can try Gandhi Palace, but I wouldn’t waste my stomach space on it again.

Delicious Indian food. We ate CTM and chicken Masra with some nan and we were very happy with the choices.

Decent Indian food within walking distance from Rossio metro station. Oddly, this restaurant also serves Italian food. This review is just for the Indian menu. Portions and prices were decent, and the selection is what you’d expect to find on any Indian restaurant menu. The dining room is quite cramped though. We were seated by the window and blocked in on both sides by other parties. It was a tad awkward to climb out of that seating arrangement. Otherwise, this is a good, safe option if you need a break from the local cuisine.

If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Lisbon, this is the place! My friend was craving curry and after reading reviews we took a nice walk down and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was really nice and was quite busy. The food was AMAZING and really hit the spot. The menu selection is quite vast with a lot of variety to meet everyone’s needs. Ghandi Palace is a definite must for a great and delicious meal!

Great Indian food, we needed a change of pace after 7 straight days of local fare. We had wine and beer and plenty of food for just $ 60e and everything we ordered was delicious. Service was great by European standards. Would definitely recommend you try the tikka masala and the cheese nan.

The win here are the Indian culinary offerings — not the Italian. I dined Italian this evening and my review reflects that. Service was excellent — prompt, professional, and a decent flow to food. The restaurant is kitschy — but hey, with a name like Gandhi Palace, what else would you expect! xD The food was meh — started with the caprese(average) and ended with a shrimp pasta(average). Nothing to write home about and no reason to return. EXCEPT to try out the Indian menu. I did sample a few dishes ordered at my table and they seemed excellent. I will update if I ever get back to Lisbon and try their Indian offerings.

Found this via Unilocal and close to our hotel, Hotel Portugal. Service is typical European, food was delicious and prices are very decent. For 2 people with drinks to include wine was € 30! Portions are smaller, not your typical American size, which was perfect without getting overstuffed. Highly recommend if looking for something different to eat!

Went to Gandhi Palace for lunch. They have two completely different menus, one Indian and one Italian. I chose the Indian and couldn’t have been more pleased. Had chicken tikka, which was served on a sizzling platter. Fabulous! Had garlic Naan and Raita as well. Divine. I felt the prices were reasonable, but I haven’t been in Lisbon that long to compare. Wish I were staying longer so I could do a repeat

I’m not sure why the price listed is 4 star. The food was very reasonably priced. Nicely prepared. Great flavor. Very friendly staff Quick. A perfect place to drop in for lunch.

Amazing menu! Wonderful tasty Indian dishes prepared to perfection and Italian dishes were perfect too! Imagine two amazing chefs joining together to allow you to mix cuisines. Our large group ate here 3 times. We shared dishes and were able to sample almost everything. Amazing service! Beautiful restaurant amd great location.

Very rarely do I find an Indian restaurant that I HAVE to visit again and recommend to everyone. But there are exceptions — like Gandhi Palace. If I actually lived in Lisbon, I am almost certain I would be here every other day, devouring everything on the menu. Service — great! Food — Do they ship back to America? If only… Lamb Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Jalfrezi were delicious. Full of flavor and not overwhelmed by spicyness with the stigma that follows most Indian/Pakistani restaurants. The naan was splendid and don’t even get me started on the Garlic Naan! Not sure if this place is pricey by Lisbon standards, but I thought the value for the amount of food you received was great. I think I’m salivating as I am writing this. I will be back Gandhi Palace, you can be sure of that!

Allerdings ’ Achtung: keine Terrasse !!! Leider.

We’d been traveling around Europe and was crazily craving for Asian food when we noticed Gandhi Palace situated right in front of where we stayed at… Why yes, yes Indian food please! Curry and garlic naan tasted very delicious and as what we are familiar with back at home in San Francisco! Surprised how much food comfort your soul(and stomach) when traveling…

Ordered take out. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night. The pizza di casa was a job well done so was the Indian chicken kebab. Weird combination to have indian and Italian in one place but I was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend.
