Ta Bom was advertised in a ‘freemap’ whilst on holiday in Portugal near Albufeira. I am vegan and so was more than happy when we located this hidden gem. Situated on a back street close to the centre of Abufeira, Ta Bom is a pretty, clean and friendly little restaraunt. It is run by chef Wouter(Dutch) and Kathleen(Phillippines) who have mixed both of their talents to create beautiful dishes that are well presented but also substantial and nutritonally balanced with the addition of being organic too. I must stress that the menu isn’t just for vegetarians and vegans and offers meals for other tastes too. All of the meals are home made and the menu changes, I tried a Morrocan dish with chickpeas which was truly delicious. My husband and daughter who are not vegan tried other dishes which they found very much to their liking. The couple both speak good English and so it was easy to ask what the ingredients where and ensure that the meal was vegan. They are both very freindly and understanding. We intended to eat there again but unfortunatley it was closed as Kathleen was unwell but Wouter was around and he walked us to an alternative restaraunt that he recommended for all us our needs and that was organic food too. I would highly recommend this to you for a real treat.
