I spent few days in Zielona Góra and was looking for a place to eat, so decided to choose place visited by Magda Gessler. I liked the interior design, colorful walls and music — everything together really created proper, kind of Bollywood atmosphere. I decided to order food recommended by Magda Gessler — Daal Sorba — creamy lentil soup — and to be honest it was warm, had nice green color but that’s it — saying it was mild is like saying nothing — for me it really lacked taste, especially that it was supposed to be Indian meal — I can accept that not all the meals should be spicy, as they are adjusted to Polish taste, but at least please add more herbs ;-). Paneer Pakora with mint sauce(I took mango chutney in addition, cause I’m addicted to mango ;-)) was a good choice — not too greasy, warm but not hot, portion ok for one person but also small sharing starter for 2, enough sauce to really dip the cheese in it — mint sauce — refreshing, not to sticky or spicy, chutney a little bit sticky, sweet but with intriguing taste at the end. I was not able to eat too much of it, cause of it sweetness but I was happy with ordering eat. As for mango lassi it was ok — not to sweet but I would like to taste more mango in it. Dessert — Gulab Jamun — fried cottage cheese balls with sugar sauce. Very sweet– really sticky and indeed really sweet, I didn’t eat anything like that in India but it gave me Asian flavor — but these 2 pieces are more than enough to kill you with sugar– still I recommend trying ;-). In general good value for money, especially when comparing with prices of Indian meals in Warsaw, for those expecting real Indian food can be a little bit disappointing but still better than average Indian restaurant in Poland — but I guess this was needed to meet expectations of Poles, place keeps Indian atmosphere and tasty food — not worth going to Zielona Góra only for this restaurant ;) but if you are around and like exotic tastes — do drop by :).

Excellent Indian restaurant in the very centre of Zielona Góra, nice town in the middle of nowhere ie western frontier of Poland. The place is just excellent. Two Indian chefs, very nice and competent service. Food is great — properly seasoned, with lots of spices, you can really tell, that this place smells and tastes different from the most restaurants in Poland, where there’s not much above salt and pepper. I’ve been here few times — every time it was a very very pleasant experience. If you happen to end in Zielona Góra for some strange reason — go there. It’s worth it.
