Why did this place not open near my home? Tasty dumplings at a very good price. As a casual bar it may not be a place you would go to specially but if you are close by, you would drop in frequently. The wonton soup was noticeable for not being…(Predictive text suggested«erotic», but that’s not a quality I have ever noticed of wonton soup, maybe that’s only me) … full of monosodium glutamate. The dumpling skins are not as delicate as I would expect from an authentic Chinese dim sum bar but I still enjoyed the dumplings a lot.

I love dumplings. I soon as I learned of Parobar from Unilocal then off I went. It’s basically a fast-food place, with bar stools along the wall for those dining in. Prizes are fast-food level as well. 13 zł get you ten dumplings, served in a bamboo basket. The dumplings tasted pretty authentic. Then again, Chinese dumplings aren’t that different from Polish pierogi. The main difference is the thickness of the dough: Chinese dumplings have thinner wrappers. Greater effort is also spent on making them look nice. Parobar is definitely worth a try. The food is relatively inexpensive. The presentation is neat. And you get a chance to practice your skills with chopsticks. Personally, I’d recommend the dumplings with pork, the traditional ingredient. Meanwhile, avoid the beef ones. The meat just doesn’t steam well – it gets dry and tough.
